Flavour to Lichs/Non-demon evils

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

No idea if this came up before (theres 55 pages in this section afterall), if its an "old thing" already discussed, well, Im sorry. 😞

Friend had an idea of summoning demons. It would be an interesting flavour for Lichs and other non-demon bad boys to be able to summon a (player) demon (using an offering?) and support him. Support as in allow him to stay longer by magic or accepting a debuff for having a demon bound to them etc.

The offering could an unique item or any item the demon-player would accept as an offering.

Liches are not evil. They can have any alignment just like humans. https://fractured.gamepedia.com/Lich
There are no plans to have summoning players currently. Planned teleportation: https://fractured.gamepedia.com/Teleportation
If you want to summon some kind of minion look at: https://fractured.gamepedia.com/Necromancy

@GorTavaro How I remember from previous discussions that Lich are somehow tie to be neutral... 🤔

  • @GorTavaro thank you for the info

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

Yeah, as answered above, liches are by default neutral, same as humans. Then depending on their choices, they can remain neutral, or walk either way towards good or evil.

When human transforms to lich, i believe he will keep his current alignment, that he had as human. Transformation from lich back to human will not be possible (as far as we know at the moment), however, lich can still do good or evil actions, and thus modify its allignment towards any side.

To make a comparisson, Angels when transformed, will not be able to take evil actions anymore, as far as we know for now, if nothing changes, so they are bound to good allignment.

  • @LonelyCookie I really like the idea of summoning demons. it might be a cool interaction if devs made it the only way for demons to leave tartaros

  • TF#7 - AMBASSADOR

Perhaps not the only way but how about the human paying a price so the demon can cross over without many penalties

  • @Caako But then if nobody wil summon them, demons will never get anywhere out of Tartatros and considering each planet has unique materials, demons would have pretty serious disadvantage. Not talking about players with two accounts, who would be able to teleport anywhere anytime on demand.

  • TF#12 - PEOPLE'S HERALD

The idea of summoning player-demons was meant in addition to the normal planet teleporting and strictly "player-player" interaction, not replacement. Except if summoned by another player, player-demon would suffer less debuffs, could stay longer, get a buff or something, while debuffing/hurting the summoner. Neutral aligned summoners could get an extra negative karma hit for doing such an evil act 😃

Like a nice flavor gameplay option for evil and neutral humans/beastmen.

  • TF#7 - AMBASSADOR

Couldn't you also put that aspect into Angels then? I mean it would also work for Angels through prayers?

This ends up as likely P2W abuse. Players pay $$ for multiple accounts, and then summon themself, buffed to other world, gaining advantage, longer stay on the planet, more resources, more ingame gold, through longer stay on the planet (while also buffed).

  • @Gothix the universal rule of magic is that there's always a cost. summoning a demon would most likely hold the same cost of fast travel if not higher. or give a permanent debuff so long as the demon lasts

  • @Sengir
It would make sense, but to be fair, summoning random players won't be very useful because it's very easy to exploit since you can summon somebody and your folks can gank them. After a while, people will get suspicious and reject being summoned. It could work on furries planet for angels to some extend -> you can't do a boss because you don't have enough people, so you summon an angel
