What unusual weapon types would you like to see?

I would love to see some guns. The ones with great ornaments, etc. Real pieces of art.
Since technology is evolving in Human world (steam engines have already been mentioned for example) it should be possible.Next step should be guns that use magic. You could either use different magic crystals either to produce them or use as ammo. Based on this guns could have different effects.

@darian In reality, you don't use a sword/axe/mace even remotely the same way.
That doesn't matter. In many video games, they're wielded identically.
Again, Elder Scrolls is a fine example, as more recent games only distinguish between one-handed and two-handed weapons. Perks will cause swords/axes/maces to apply different status effects, but a one-handed weapon of any of those three types is used exactly the same way by the player character, with identical swing animations.
That's why you can always find all three in a given fantasy MMO and are less likely to find weapons that can't possibly be excused using the same animations, such as spears. (They usually include bows and sometimes crossbows though, because they need to have a ranged weapon.)

@fibs Fair point. I think I was clear that gaming environment is different from reality. Still we have games like tiger knight for example, where parts of the actual mechanics of different weapons have been implemented. They still struggle with balance though. Since they are aiming for realism, but how can you balance something that is realistically superior while keeping the "feel" of the weapon close to what it should be? I remember playing Gothic back in the days. They didn't try to balance weapons there. They just made each particularly good for certain tasks and left it to the player to prepare according to the challenge he/she was about to tackle!

I think these things should be very closely integrated into the lore, I read about the history of the japaenese Kama deriving from agricultaral tools to fight with (as it wa forbidden to use swords being a farmer class at that time).

Well, it may not fit, but I'd love to play someone with a musket and a rapier as a side weapon.

@sebastian we have no clue about the weapons that has been implemented in to the game. So we can freely suggest everything. That's the cool thing of this thread. Here you can suggest every wishes about any kind of weapon.

@finland and Iād believe players would have that also. It might take a while to research it but the technology is there in game.

@jetah Siege weapons are allowed only on Syndesia during siege wars not usuable for normal open pvp.

Futher more I would like to add:
-both 1h and 2h maces
-1 ball flail, 2 ball flail and 3 ball flailA series of offhand options:
Big heavy shields just for blokking, but light shields have option for shieldbashing for melee players. In the hands of a mage a shield can give AOE protection buffs against magic, melee, fire and both passive and active abilities.Offhand torches in the hand of a melee player to swing around and for a magic player to wield big flames or bright light to push back evil. Might also add warmth to survival elements in cold weather.
Warhorns. Using it gives small attribute boost to allies (don't allow it to stack) in a large area. Maybe add a special warhorn for siege commanders that shows their location on the map for a short time to rally troops and causes big aoe debuff for any enemy that is close.
The enemy should also see it on their map (they are not deaf ofc :p) and using the warhorn can also be a distraction to lure the enemy away or in an ambush.
