And to make that argument more clear: The Griefer fraction is always crying the loudest, but maybe developers might think twice to only hear them and ignore the more silent masses - that will just leave after being ganged twenty times in a row...

I would ask for a 'faith' system where behaving according to the ways of the main worshipped god, e. g. for beast-people behaving peacefully, greeting other and not attacking anyone and anything in sight unprovoked is rewarded by this god, so that the character is protected by his god in his home realm, when instead of fighting he turns to praying to his deity. If he has proven his faith before, then he is protected, if he tried to pk himself, a peaceful god would not protect him. If one wishes to join in the fight, praying later should not be an option anymore to escape from a fight. In that way you can add a role-playing component, where choices matter and add a protection for players who wish to avoid pvp at all cost, but have to behave more in consent with their protective deity. Respectively, in the demon world deities or archdemons of chaos and destruction would support their aggressive, backstabbing followers with buffs for fighting, as this is their realm and the other gods have no saying there.
Great idea actually - much more complex to play that than the current options seen in MMORPGs

RE: The PvE vs PvP Thread
I never understood why the PvE/PvP discussion brings out the worst in a lot of people - especially the PvP fraction can be very rude not accepting a more relaxed playstyle that you have in PvE.
"Carebear", "not a game for you, go to Farmville" ist fast to fire off, but I never read a good argumentation while griefing would really be something that moves a game on... -
RE: Let's talk API.
API is a great idea, while API powered trading might be a bad idea for the obvious advantage a bot would have?

RE: What unusual weapon types would you like to see?
I think these things should be very closely integrated into the lore, I read about the history of the japaenese Kama deriving from agricultaral tools to fight with (as it wa forbidden to use swords being a farmer class at that time).

RE: Upgradable Pets
Maybe that shoud be class restricted, some classes are pet classes and though can upgrade, but other classes might be to strong with that option?
