Steampunk Technology: What we can expect to see in Fractured?
-
What are your personal expectations and/or wishes related for steampunk technology?
One reason why I am interested of humans is their access to steampunk technology. This is also uncommon feature in MMORPGs what makes it interesting at first place.
I personally expect us to see bionic body parts and weapon upgrades like in this picture:
Maybe even siege weapons/vehicles like these steamtanks:
Zeppelins for fast traveling:
What about monsters?
Mounts would be really cool:

Steampunk lends itself to modular design, which would be awesome. I'd love to research and design in-game technology, see how well it worked, and keep the best stuff secret as long as possible....
(And of course, steampunk just looks cool. )

While I certainly wouldn't mind a steampunk aesthetic, I feel like the direction Fractured is going in is more of a medieval fantasy setting.
Both would be nice.

@Belligero
humans already confirmed to have steampunk so they can be on equal field with beast and demons. otherwise they'd die really quick.

Yes, you are right that the general feel is more like a middleage fantasy setting, but the technology where humans will have access is confirmed to be related for steampunk theme.

But isn't Steampunk a type of medieval fantasy?

@Tuoni steampunk lich in a steampunk dungeon/castle could be cool

Steampunk is more like 1800s and medieval times ended about 1500s.

There can also be a modern steampunk, even futuristic steampunk.
All cultures advance over time, and technologies as well.

@Xzoviac Steampunk Lich? Yes please!
I'm interested to see the kind of tech that will be available to humans. Whether human tech will be strictly siege weapons or if individuals can craft smaller weapons, some of which have already been mentioned, such as guns and bionic limbs. Mounts would be cool too, but I'm assuming they would be purely aesthetic.

Point taken.

I would actually like to see a scientific NPC faction, which lives in Syndesia. Maybe their experiments and researches related for technology have gone too far and we can see weird tech animals with bionic bodyparts. It would be easy to build open world areas and dungeons around this theme.

Steampunk Daleks?
-
I don't mind this theme on the game but DS might have themes for the game that doesn't suit with the steampunk ya feel me?

Steampunk Daleks?
Thinking bout that, Dalek is a transformation. And there is no going back after. So it kinda fits in to Fractured philosophy.
Exterminate!

I was not familiar what are Daleks, so I googled, and I have to say..
I hope some people recognize these from Warhammer concept.

I actually feel your concern. There is a risk, that mixing too much different kind of themes can make the whole package feel messy, like there is no logical direction.
However, there is nothing new that different races, nations or cultures are in different situation what it comes for advancement. From this point of view it makes sense that humans technology is far more advance when compared to others. Steampunk as chosen advancement theme is another case and can of course divide opinions. One reason is that steampunk can be some people quite weird genre with idea of alternative science progression and future. We do not know at this point how depth that steampunk theme goes in Fractured, but I am personally interested to see what is actually planned and is intend to implement.
