UPDATE!
Just 2 more.

10. GUILDS:
I have some information about crafting in my compilation thread: https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/266/a-compilation-of-everything-we-know-about-fractured?page=1. I assume there will be a spotlight about crafting at some point.
@aurellas said in Forum Downtime 2017 Dec 13-14:
Thanks for this. Whatโs important is that you didnโt go radio silent on us like so many developers do. Iโm always pleased to see developers that communicate with their communities in such a way that you realize the devs are also only people.
This is the type of thing that garners an incredible amount of good will, and shows us that you are not just fly-by-nights looking for a quick buck. Iโm looking forward to sharing in your success with this game.
Good luck, and keep on being human.
Communication is key. I hate game development companies that go completely silent whenever there's unexpected (extended) downtime. Even though this was just the forum and not the game, communication is still important and I hope that the devs keep this up once the game is live aswell.

@vengu didn't know. why they use this art?
Sunti explains it in his post:
Those characters don't represent the 3 races you'll see in game, they describe their alignment.
UPDATE!
Finally a big update thanks to the latest spotlight and all the questions that came after.
Changed some catagories and split Races and Planets up. Also, to clear the catagories up a bit, I have created subcatagories within the main catagories.

I am pretty certain that eventually fansites will spoil exactly how every ability is earned. It's not something that can easily be avoided. Randomization won't help because it takes away the flavor of every ability. It would be weird if the raise undead spell is learned by picking a bunch of flowers. If you don't like being spoiled, the best way to avoid it is by simply avoiding those fansites.
Prometheus talked a lot about why they went with mouse movement instead of WSAD in this thread: https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/41/why-will-the-control-be-based-on-a-mouse

@jetah You are free to PvP everywhere. Just join the demons, they suit your play style perfectly. But donยดt drag the other planets along. This game is being made in a way that suits all kind of play styles, that's why there are 3 planets with different rules and each suited the best for different play styles. So donยดt try to "force"other people to play the way you want.
gonna be human so people wonder if i'm friendly or not. gotta keep people on their toes.
the games mechanics offer a way to pvp on the beast planet then i'll find a way to do it.
You will die trying. Evil players on the Beastmen planet are debuffed while Beastmen are buffed.
Prometheus has said before he likes metrics, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get a whole bunch of them.
@gibbx said in Clarification on the target audience:
This post confuses me somewhat. Is it not obvious that there is something designed into this game for everyone? A whole world for PVE'ers where they don't have to worry about being ganked. A whole world for PVP'ers where they can PK to their hearts content. Guild action for the empire builders. Crafting up the wazoo. Due to the setting catering to the fantasy crowd.
Did I miss anything?
You can get ganked on the PvE world and that is exactly the problem from what I can see. There seem to be a fair amount of people here who think that Arboreus is fully PvE, or want it to be. The devs on the other hand have repeatedly stated that PvP and ganking will happen on Arboreus, it will just be harder to do. I have the feeling this is going to cause a lot of friction in the future. There's a real clash between PvE and PvP players going on in some threads right now.
Yes please! Nothing worse than the camera getting stuck behind some leaves with no way to turn the camera.

(...) I really dk why everyone is sooo sure that beastmen are going to be a walkover to pvp'ers.(...)
I doubt that's the case. Balancing would be trivial (the less PvP you're doing, the higher your bonus due to beastman environment) for that matter.
It's more about people who do not want PvP to happen at all (and try to rally for changing the vision/design of the game accordingly) in specific areas. Because that would directly impact the PvP part (not only does it take development time to develop the pure PvE part, that can't be spent developing PvP content, but the interaction between pure PvE and PvP can easily unbalance PvP).
The developers are already spending time making PvE content though, like dungeons and events.
There's no point in speculating. Hopefully @Prometheus can give us some answers.

Ah, you misunderstood me, sorry, I should have explained myself better/more detailed.
PvE content should be developed and should exist, but that is typically the fastest consumed content and a race no developer can win (PvP content is partially 'built' through player interaction, which is why you need less time developing and can keep up at the pace of consumption). If you have an 'open world', where PvP is part of the PvE experience, that takes less time to develop then a purely PvE instanced environment.
Does that make sense?
But what if a PvE player doesn't want to do PvP content. Such content is meaningless for that person then, even if isn't consumed as fast as PvE content.
@corruptedknight said in Memorizing spells/attacks:
By memorizing is it in the way that it literal.Like do we actually have to memorize ig spells or is something in the game that allows you to learn an attack? Can you clarify i am quite confused in this aspect.
If your INT stat is high enough, you can take more abilities with you than you can fit on the action bar. Those excess abilities are the "memorized" abilities. It says so in the spotlight about character creation. We don't have to memorize them literally.
Memorized VS In-Hotbar Abilities
As we explained above, the amount of abilities you can memorize during a resting phase is not fixed. This means their number can be greater than what fits the ability hotbar at the bottom of your screen! How are you able to use them all in combat then?
Well, you canโt โ not at the same time at least, since spells in your hotbar are the only ones you can actually cast. At any time when out of combat, however, you can take an ability out of the hotbar and replace it with a memorized one of your choice. This operation is not restricted as resting phases are โ itโs enough you arenโt in the middle of the action really!

People can hide things and coins are pretty easy to hide.
In that case it would make more sense if it were tied to perception rather than charisma.
@kairosval said in Consumable Currency:
@jetah said in Consumable Currency:
how do you have 3 planets with different native resources be valued differently enough that people want another planets resource?
Easiest way is rarity.
Healing potions are more common in Arboreus, semi-rare in Syndesia, and very rare in Tartaros. So Tararos will value healing potions more highly than in Arboreus.
Reverse that for mana potions.
Then give Syndesia a higher drop-rate on scrolls of identify.
Something like that - specifics aren't really important.
It would basically work like any other resource: A trader taking Crystal from Arboreus and travelling to Tartaros to trade it for poison glands (or whatever) harvested from Tartaros' wildlife, then back to Arboreus, building value every time.
Same thing for consumable currency items.
Probably too complicated to implement that way, but I think it would be neat if they did.
That would never work. I assume Fractured will have a lot more items than PoE. For example, you use healing and mana potions as an example, but I am pretty certain that in Fractured, alchemists will be able to make a lot more than 2 potions. With all the crafting, gathering, etc going on, it's likely there will be hundreds of different items in the game. With that many items, you can't use them as currency unless players are going to do what Guild Wars players did and designate one item as an alternative currency, like ecto in GW.
