    • RE: about flag

      @nelchael said in about flag:

      @finland

      Aggressive and Thief aren't the same thing.

      The Thief flag means you stole from someone, and it forces you to be Evil or Neutral. Nothing more.

      Aggressive means you attacked someone, and it's similar to being Evil.

      If you steal from someone without attacking them, you're flagged as Thief, not Aggressive. On the other hand, if you attack a Neutral player, you will be flagged as Aggressive.

      From what we know, the only way to steal from someone is by attacking them until they are knocked out. The act of attacking a good or neutral player will flag you as aggressive, and stealing or murdering them afterwards will extend that flag. I don't know what would happen if you stole from someone who's already knocked out, but it would only make sense to flag that person aggressive as well to prevent players from cheesing the mechanic.

      @phaethonas community has the power to change things ;). The devs doesn't want to produce a game for just 4dogs. I'm pretty sure they aim to get more players as possible. Anyway I'll accept dev decision, I'm here just to bring my exp from other games. Players may think the same or not.

      Btw 3 best mmorpg around are wow>gw2>eso so everyone should think what's make them so long-lived and with an high player base.

      Yeah, I thought as much!

      So, you basically want to tell me that you are here to change the Devs' opinion!

      As for the 3 "best MMORPGs", well, this is part of the problem. Pvers have a game to play, pvpers, don't.

      So, I can say that games that will focus at (open world) pvpers and/or crafters have a good chance of becoming successful because they will be targeting the two most neglected demographics of MMORPGs.

      Other than EVE, which open world PvP game is succesful? Darkfall keeps dying, Mortal Online got a few hundred players left, Albion is dying, WoW is overhauling its PvP servers, etc.

      and your point is what? that pvpers don't exist?

      Other than EVE, the rest games you mentioned (with the exception of Darkfall which was and is just bad) are being designed for pvers and they have added pvp just to attract pvpers. As those games are designed for pvers though, pvpers are not having fun at them.

      So, a game that is designed for pvpers is valid.

      If you disagree, then please don't play games that are designed for pvpers and go play a pve oriented game.

      What are you talking about? Fractured has a planet solely designed for PvE players. Do you think this is a PvP oriented game? Also, if you think that games like Mortal Online and Albion are PvE oriented games, I don't know what to say...

    • RE: Firendly fire?

      As much as I like friendly fire, I am afraid it won't work very well in Fractured. Why? Because abilities interact with the environment. It turns single target abilities into AOE abilities as we saw in the Arboreus video. So, even if you only put single-target abilities on your action bar, everything will be burning, electrified, poisoned, frozen, etc seconds into the fight.

      and that planet solely designed for PvE can be invaded by humans and demons. which causes that planet to become pvx for a few hours or however long an invasion will last. there is at least 1 place that'll be sacred which no evil being can reach but outside of that evil will dance a lovely song.

      That's not how it works. Arboreus has no eclipse-style PvP event like Syndesia. Evil players will be heavily debuffed at all times while Beastmen will be buffed. There's no "happy PvP hour" on Arboreus.

    • RE: Сheat attributes.

      Why would they implement such thing? The different races have different attribute caps to set them apart. Applying penalties would go against the very idea of the attribute system. A Hellfire Demon has high strength because their bodies are quite simply built for such strength. Same thing with the Dexterity of the Tiger-Kin, who are naturally more agile, hence the higher Dexterity. Penalties don't make sense. The caps already ensure that nobody can pump it all into one stat.

    • RE: The PvE vs PvP Thread

      One thing I don't understand is, why do so many PvPers here have such a big obession with Arboreus? What does Arboreus have that Syndesia and Tartaros does not? The devs have said multiple times that no planet has resources that are strictly better than the other planets, so it can't be about resources. Why would you want to fight a bunch of peaceful PvE players over more PvP oriented players on Syndesia and Tartaros. Prometheus has also said that you generally can't destroy player-owned structures except during city sieges, so you're not going to be able to destroy many buildings either. Heck, many PvPers in here sound more excited over attacking Arboreus, than the eclipse mechanic on Syndesia.

      @tulukaruk said in The PvE vs PvP Thread:

      @target I would say that "peaceful/cooperative player" is pretty close to "carebear" 😉 And they said that that kind of player is also their target. One of us has to be wrong - either I misunderstand the devs or you do.

      And that's the confusing part. Here we have a dev company that advertises a hardcore PvP game with full loot, free4all PvP, etc, while at the same time also advertising the game to peaceful PvE players who aren't interested in hardcore PvP, and they seem to believe they can blend these 2 things together. That obviously confuses a lot of people which has lead to many clashes in this thread. Some of us believe this game will be very peaceful towards PvE players while others believe this game will lean heavily to the PvP side, even on Arboreus. The upcoming spotlight will most certainly be the most important spotlight we've had so far.

      @jetah if the equip will make difference in combat. If I will need to grind more than killing stuff. If I can be looted while gathering. Well I will not play if those 3 thing are related. The only chance for ppl like me to play a full loot game is to gather safely (if it's required to gather). I will not play a game when I can risk to lose more time than the time I can spend enjoying the game. As I said in another post/reply I'm not looking for a copy of Albion.

      @jetah said in The PvE vs PvP Thread:

      getting your account banned is a bigger time waster than the 3 hours you can play a day.

      This remember me the old times on Silk Road. There I started hacking accounts after the 1st ban. Stealing equips from top players was funny especially on those spending real money to buy p2w weapons. Not much different from a ganker/pker but I was doing it in an easier way ;).

      I'm the kind of player that report others for fail pick during drafts (moba) and leaving the match if the draft was a fail. I don't like to lose time. "Time is money friend!" Cit. a Goblin from WoW.

      Wtf man, just because someone engages in P2W doesn't mean you should hack them. If someone ganks you in Fractured, are you going to hack them too? >,<

      @jetah If you kill him, you can loot his body, but he will not move a lot 😛 Don't know if combat pet will be impemented in game, as it could make a difference in battle, and devs wont it (after, it depend of the stats, the damage it give,...). But the idea for new skin and wault is great ^^ The pet can grow over time 🙂

      The Charisma stat is all about controlling pets. 😛

      We know there are cosmetic pets as one is obtainable from the foundation, but I doubt that we'll be able to use those for combat as they are purely cosmetic. But like I said, you can be a beast master through Charisma. 😉

      @gothix said in I want to get excited but...:

      It's care bears that roam around the forums, even long before game is even released (visible from examples here) and talk agains all PvP and PvP players, often even insulting them.

      That's bullshit. It's the PvP players who are constantly attacking PvE players on the forum. No PvE player here is trying to turn Fractured into a full PvE game. I've yet to see a PvE player call for Tartaros to become a carebear land but I've seen plenty of PvP players demand that Arboreus becomes 100% PvP.

      Furthermore, they lie and twist truth in every way, trying to push the devs to make the game as PvE as possible so they would be "protected" and have their "safe spaces".

      Safe spaces are already a thing. A good amount of Arboreus is PvE-only, and the areas that aren't have a lot of restrictions in place to ensure that Arboreus won't become a bloodbath. Heck, spotlight 6 says the following:

      If you play as a Beastman on Arboreus, you’ll often wander zones completely devoid of hostile PvP – particularly as a new player, and you’re unlikely to be the victim of an aggression from other races in the rest of the world as well. If you’re Evil and looking to travel to Arboreus to go on a killing spree, you won’t succeed – you’d rather have a clear PvE / gathering objective in mind and complete it as fast as you can!

      Does that not sound like a safe space to you?

      @finland said in I want to get excited but...:

      @Vengu look at this:

      @gothix said in May 5th Q&A Livestream - List Your Questions!:

      You mentioned there are zones on Arboreus only good aligned players can enter. Can a good alligned player that is already in such "good zone" switch his alignment to evil inside there and then attack other players there?

      Nope. They never said only good alignments can enter. They said that evil will get shotted. It's also not possible to switch alignment as you wish like active pvp on/off. Alignment is a progress system but if you attack/loot/kill neutral/good you will be automatically flagged as evil. So you will get stomped before have the time to kill someone. They said that's insta stomp.

      I think you mean "They said only good alignments can enter". 😛

      Anyway I really don't get why players want to pvp in safe areas. You have many places where enjoy PvP so you should stop try to find a way to ruoin others gametime. I really hate that players attitude It's a good way to ruin games.

      Because they are griefers. 2 out of 3 planets are 100% PvP, yet all they want is access to the safe zones on Arboreus. These players want to play Fractured for the sole purpose of ganking PvE players. The developers work hard to create PvP content like city sieges, Guild vs Guild battles over asteroids, etc, but a lot of the PvP players on this forum don't seem to care about that content at all. Then they have the guts to claim we're trying to turn Fractured in a PvE game while in reality they are the ones trying to turn Fractured into something it isn't.
