@chrightt we can't tell the players how to play - large groups are inevitable. What we can and will do is discouraging "zergs" - for instance, by:
- Making combat favor skill and coordination to allow small team to prevail over zergs;
- Making expanding guilds too much cumbersome, leading to the formation of "zerg alliances" rather than "zerg guilds". Why that's better? Because an alliance is far most likely to break up than a guild.

It would also give a huge unfair advantage to towns that start early, grow in the easy mode, then are able to transition and stabilize as their path will have been much easier than towns that try to start after the introduction of the new crops and the climate factors to crop growth which were advertised in the past.I hadn't heard for the 3rd crop request for a while, I was starting to get worried We're going to introduce that together with the new tech tree and city bonuses - one big update to make city specialization a thing again but in a different way from how it used to be.

@Sora-Senpai @Deity the lore of Fractured will be quite light overall - it's a sandbox MMO, and our team is small, so it'd be hard for us to produce that kind of content. We'll expand it in future spotlights though and you'll find it scattered in the game through the relic mechanic as well :slight_smile:

Now I don't care what you you continue to do with the leader board- but I can't tolerate bullshit- especially bullshit of this calibre, & I even sense a ban for getting involved but I can already see you enjoy conflict otherwise this thread announcing petty garbage wouldn't exist..

People DO NOT enter your pre-alphas to test, they enter to learn as much as they can, so they have a competitive edge over EVERYONE else, as much as possible in your game. They test & absolutely try & break the shit out of everything, and "Share Nothing", this is the key difference- They don't share information that can give themselves an advantage, wither it's a bug, an exploit- doesn't matter, if it is believed that it is not serious enough to get someone banned it will be utilized, this happens all the damn time in MMOs, it's so common it's stupid, but here you're already breeding the atmosphere & it'll be hit 10 fold with it being a "Hardcore" game..
And that is one of the reasons why, if we sense this is someone's attitude, said person won't be included in the pre-alpha, disregarding his/her place in the ranking.
You think it's a widespread mindset? It's not. So far, there are literally 2 or 3 people who could be excluded on this ground (if they don't start behaving) out of the whole TOP 100. The others give positive contributions to this community, and I hope you and your friends will start doing so as well.

For sure we'll host events for the major festivities, and they'll be properly themed too! As for events related to the lore, don't forget that game time is much faster than real time (1 real-life month = 1 in-game year), so something like that would take place every month... Which is actually not a bad idea, we'll consider :slight_smile:

Hi Luke :slight_smile: I think this question of yours implies a little misunderstanding on the role of the Talent Tree and Abilities / Schools. As you've mentioned in your following post, the Talent Tree is indeed quite PoE-like and only provides passive bonuses - you don't unlock/learn abilities there, that's a whole separate matter. It's all explained quite in detail here! So, to reply your questions:
- No, we're not planning to force you to learn abilities in order, like "fireball > fire storm > meteor". Your character can learn all the abilities in the game, with some being harder because of generally more complex/time consuming requirements or because of your alignment and planet (thus your race).
- In the Talent Tree, it's definitely a good thing to focus on one or two branches - all six doesn't sound good, even if you've unlocked all the 50 talent points :slight_smile: Anyway, don't forget that you can re-assign your talents every time you take a Resting phase, it's not a semi-permanent decision like PoE. You're meant to re-build your character way more often on Fractured - in this respect, Fractured is closer to a MOBA, where you can "change hero" before a match.
- There is progression - learning abilities is a kind of progression and it's very important in Fractured, and so is gaining Knowledge Points -> unlocking Talent Points.

Hi @Diddykonga - as @Kralith said, yes, the change is for all accounts. What we meant is that new accounts can no longer get to level 10 automatically without doing anything, while old accounts could do (and did) so. Thanks for your support by the way!

It's not. For Alpha 1, we're building one of the continents of Syndesia - the smallest one. Later on, we're going to release the others

Yes, it applies to abilities too. You can only choose a few for use from all the ones you know - and if you've picked more than the hotbar can hold (possible with high INT), you can't use the additional ones in combat - but you can switch them in the hotbar when out of combat without having to rest. The Resting phase will be detailed in the next spotlight anyway And sure - there are plenty of synergies, plus environmental effects have a million interactions with each other
