I backed Firefly Online through the Cortex on steam and we are going on like 3 years now with no word that the game was even cancelled lol.

RE: Next test phase
I think alot of folks have come up with some interesting ideas. However, I'm pretty sure most would agree we don't want new stuff added as we would like to see the game published close to on time lol. New systems would definitely delay it's official release. Even changes to existing systems, unless they are minor, would cause delays. I mentioned once before that players eat up new content faster than devs can produce it. That's why new releases have so many problems. Publishers are forced to release stuff before it can properly get tested to keep the player base interested. We players are such a fickle bunch lol.

RE: Trading, In-game market
When you die even by pve your gear does damage correct? I was never a fan of SWG's equipment decay mechanism but I know it is a necessary part to keep the economy moving.

RE: Trading, In-game market
@ManosMer You can't give rewards to a player based upon how long they spend in the game otherwise players will just find a way to macro to those rewards. It would also put an unfair disadvantage on casual players. To me 2-3 hours of gaming a day is casual lol. Back when we played UO many of our players did 8+/day. It became their second job. As Xzait said a big name crafter is the guy who has the steady flow of goods. Nothing kills your vendor business more than people showing up and there is nothing in it to buy.

RE: Trading, In-game market
Since all players can have multiple characters per account it is kind of impossible to block players from making a crafter and a combat character. The limiting factors will be whether a player wants to invest the time into a crafter and also if they have the time. As adults many of us have to work for a living and have family lives to juggle. That leaves limited time to play games. It has been my experience that a crafter usually takes much more time to create and maintain. I have found especially that many pvp players only wish to kill stuff and crafting does not interest them at all. I have found if you are a dedicated player willing to put the time in then you can compete as a crafter. The successful crafters (meaning profitable) will be the ones that gather their own resources.

RE: General questions I couldnt find.
He might be asking something along the lines of SWTOR. In that game you can achieve on tasks that open up bonuses for your other characters.

RE: Next test phase
You must really like capes lol. I do think they make great guild uniforms. All that space to put the guild crest on. Tabards would be nice as well. There is always that one guy though.

RE: Next test phase
I like seeing new pics posted. I really like the graphics. It has that old UO isometric top down view but has very nice updated graphics with alot of detail.

Next test phase
Hope it starts soon because it seems people are running out of things to talk about lol.

RE: Anti-Hack/Cheat/Bot
I know it's a mmo but I do still like to solo from time to time. I hate grouping with people I don't know especially via some "looking for group" function. I work odd hours so I'm not always able to group with people I know so instead of doing random grouping I just solo.

RE: Anti-Hack/Cheat/Bot
Cheating is one way to kill a game. When I finally left UO the hacking was awful. Unfortunately there are those people who canβt play a game well so they find a shortcut to get ahead

RE: Pet system can be based on UO or Daoc?
Maybe train them to fight with armor or become mounts. Mix of cosmetics and a small defense adjustment

RE: Pet system can be based on UO or Daoc?
I hope they are not trainable because that is when balancing starts to become a problem

RE: Min/Max'ing and crafting/fighting
@Tuoni I would think 20 would be the level is most would shoot for to get the special ability that happens on each stat
-
RE: Min/Max'ing and crafting/fighting
What I was getting at is beginning the game you have a base character with stats no higher than 20 in any one stat depending upon your race. We are told stats are capped at 25 which means players who have been around for awhile can effectively raise their stats to that cap with knowledge and gear. With this in mind the game takes on a vertical progression because experienced players will be better than starting players. Yay I want to see progression myself. Having everyone equal like a shooter isn't my ideal rpg.

RE: Pet system can be based on UO or Daoc?
I personally found feeding pets tedious. Too much realism makes the game become work and not fun. I don't want the game to represent life. Most want to escape life while playing a game lol.

RE: Min/Max'ing and crafting/fighting
Well if there are several armor slots doesn't it stand to reason each of those pieces can have stat increasing bonuses? Will it be like D&D and only the highest of the same type counts? Will they stack so in effect you can get +str for example from several pieces? With 14 slots having stat bonuses, even +1 from each is a whopping +14 extra stats. That's alot of extra stats over a starting character. This is sounding more like an rpg to me so I'm cool with it.

RE: Min/Max'ing and crafting/fighting
I haven't been ingame yet so this is a dumb question for me lol. Is armor one piece or does it come in pieces ie breastplate, greaves, arms etc.? If so can each piece have a different bonus stat?
Even with this reply I'm with Jetah and developed characters will have a significant edge over new characters. I'm glad for this personally as I don't want to play and never see my character progress.
