I've avoided anime for much of my life because it's a very saturated medium full of a lot of total garbage. You have to do a lot of sifting to find the good stuff.
I dislike most of the "popular" anime like Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, One Piece, etc. Super crap. Dragon Ball Super is great tho. Sword Art Online is just a really shitty dothack fanfic.
The original three Slayers seasons (Slayers, Slayers NEXT, Slayers TRY) are really good. The newer ones (Slayers Revolution, Slayers Evolution-R) are terrible thanks in no small part to Pokota.

Both manga and anime are really good (but only old anime version, the new one looks strange)

I've just recently started watching this (like yesterday). I still don't know how I feel about it.
Dystopia future society is always interesting, people dramas also, but the way the mechas are controlled and everything build around it - how should I describe it - leaves a strange taste in your mouth? rubs you in the wrong way?
The producers are making such an effort to point out the really obvious parallels, that it just seems forceful, fake, over-the-top and at some point just annoying.

That's a good thing actually. I like mangas that don't try to milk it till they unreadable

yeah its a good thing it came to an end ... but now i cant read a new chapter each week

@lohen Mangaka for Naruto said he wanted to tell a different story so he's using Naruto's son. What I like about it is it allows me to see the kids I watched 10 years ago as adults making those same rough decisions Naruto's mentors made.

the biggest enemy was defeated

wow there is another oneThat's how it works though. If you started boxing, there'd always be someone better than you. Even when you reach the top, someone else is training wanting to take that title from you. It's also difficult to have a story about fighting when the main character is the best and no new enemies to fight.
