Stats & Damage
-
Are skills linked to stats for increasing damage?
Like are spells linked to intelligence and the higher the Int, the more damage spells do.
-
All magical skills are linked to Intelligence, a few of them are linked to both Intelligence and Charisma, etc.
It's all explained in this article.
-
Probably, but I wouldn't expect the difference to be that severe given the way the rest of the game is designed

hey @Unreal1985 if you go here :

you could have your answers.- They're skills/talent whose up your caracteristic (Indeed, each branch of the Talent Tree contains talents that grant a total of +2 to a specific attribute. )
- Intelligence :
Reaching an Intelligence score of 20 gives the character a significant boost to Mana regeneration.
Although Intelligence is an obvious requirement for aspiring mages, it’s really unwise not to raise it to a score of at least 10 during character creation, disregarding the type of hero you’re trying to build. This is because Intelligence plays a key role in learning new abilities faster and allows a character to memorize more abilities at the same time, as explained in the next chapter.
Magic tricks and incantations represent the full extent of the offensive and defensive power of a sorcerer, making the increased memory given by Intelligence particularly useful. Moreover, a reliable pool of mana can make the difference between success and defeat, especially since powerful wizards usually achieve their powers sacrificing most of their physical strength.
When you read Axii's sun strike, damage skill seems linked to the rank but when you see the Talent tree picture, you could see a Combat stat box where you have Damage increase : 5% so characteristic must have a direct link to the global damage.
So I think skill itself doesn't use the stat on some calcul but the stat are used after you lauch it to maximize the skill used

@gofrit cool thanks where did you find that so I can look more into it?
-
Yes, this is why choosing your attributes at character creation is most important thing to be careful about. Attributes affect power of spells from affiliated schools, and you can NOT rearrange your attributes once you have set them. Your attribute allocation is permanent.
Check spotlight articles ( @Gofrit linked them, but you can find all articles by going to news section https://fracturedmmo.com/news/ ) to find out which attributes affect which schools of abilities. Also there is an extra bonus to affiliated spells if you bring a particular attribute up to max (20 points).
This is for people that like to min max particular schools, vs the people that will wish to spread their attributes in balanced way, and make characters that can use all schools more or less equally effective. More specialized characters vs more versatile characters.

@gothix that's a cool system, do you know if there is a way to create more then one charecter? So you can experiment with different stat builds to customise the charecter to the way you want to play?
-
@unreal1985 yes we will be able to create several characters. This is confirmed. We do not know, however, how many yet exactly.
-
@gothix cool man thanks for your help

I missed that comment by Prometheus. Original spotlight says that attribute allocation is permanent, but yeah, I guess they could add few respecs for people that "fuck it up".
I doubt they will be something commonly available though. Maybe when some major patches happen, or something like that.
