Any idea if they are going to have the ability to race change?

I like the elk and wolf beastmen but if I get tired of one, any idea if there will be a cash shop item like in gw2 or if it will be free like dauntless or just not an option period?

I'm not sure if there will be a race change. Most mmos do have one so we may see it be implemented.

Unlikely. There are too many gameplay mechanics based on race.

@jazunia. Your race choice is much more than just aesthetics. It determines your starting planet, starting alignment, attribute caps, etc. It's very very unlikely the devs will ever allow you to change your race after character creation.

I have to say that it should be locked to the same race because you have the ability to move around and become whatever. To agree with that more I have to say the ability to change who you are regarding race, name, etc takes away from the immersion of the game. Sure you can do some of that in real life, but really it isn't that easy and most people are not willing.

but limit it to planet races. Human would be meh but Male to Female could work.
Beast and Demon should have the option to switch between themselves. It could be setup to wipe [karma] or something so that people don't want to do it often (other than putting a hard 12 month timer on it).
I don't see a problem for any Beastkin to swap to a different Beastkin, same for Demons.

Race change or sex swap is a very very bad idea. If a player want to change he could restart a character.

unlike in other games, maybe PoE as an exception, you'd lose all of your knowledge just to want to play a different race (I'm putting beastkin in the race group, human in their and Demon in theirs).
and people are willing to spend 25$ for a race change which just needs to be coded. it's very easy money for developers.

@jetah you say lot of things about you don't want Fractured be P2W.
But, here, it's exactly the same things : If you can change your race with cash because you don't want to take time to up your knowledge and up/down your Karma it's pay to win => because you pay to don't loose time.
If a player want to change his character, he could : he create a new one, they're 2 characters more slot to do that, it's easy enough yeah ?
And I don't want to see Fractured Dev Team taking there precious coding time to do something like that (with bug risk and potential exploit after if something wrong)

Race change isn't a win objective.
I don't want to be playing the same race for 5 years, maybe I want to change my vamp into a nightmare.
