Will this game be available in Steam?
-
Will I be able to purchase the game during open alpha/beta or any other stage via Steam?
-
I hope so eventually since it's nice to have all my games in one spot. I typically see these kind of games do their Alpha phases outside of steam and during Beta maybe they get in on Early Access for additional exposure and fund raising.
-
You can always add non steam games to steam
-
i hope so
-
I hope not. I really hate steam.
-
@finland you don't have to use it Steam could extend the reach of the game to users that might not find it otherwise. I found the game through a Google search but I was specifically looking for up and coming MMOs.
Why don't you like Steam if you don't mind me asking?
-
@kellewic I hate the launcher, interface, store politics, and 99% of the games there are just shit. I prefer smoth easy things. A launcher with 10 games like epic games blizzard and so on. I used steam ages ago while playin CSS or dota2 but now I try to skip to get there.
Also the feedback system is ashit and should be removed. There is full of fakes and retards that has no clue and givin no sense feedbacks.
You don't need it to spread the news. Twitch, youtube and facebook are the best places to gather people.

@finland It seems any avenue to create more "buzz" would be something worth looking at. I don't know the particulars of how Steam works as far as the developers/publishers are concerned (like what percent of revenue is given up), but everyone I know who games uses it - mostly for convenience. One "thing" to install and start each game. I also had the Blizzard one when I played WoW and Overwatch.
- I'm suspect of reviews everywhere.
- 99% of the games being shit are going to be shit regardless of if they are on Steam
- I can say if I didn't look for this game specifically via Google and the only places they were at is Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube; I'd never have seen it.
Wondering how others found it last year - was there a marketing campaign on some MMO site? I just got back into gaming after a few months hiatus - before that I was playing the last Path of Exile league (Abyss).
Thanks for sharing your thoughts regarding Steam.
-
Same tbh.
-
Valve takes 30% of sales though.
-
I've never been a huge Steam fan either. I found this game while scrolling thru the reddit mmorpg sub a few days ago. That's usually where I find majority of the games I play actually.
-
@silvermoonlight maybe....
PS: dialy missions
-
@kellewic you are welcome tho, I found it due a news on a mmo forum
-
I don't understand people that "must have" steam.
OK, steam overlay is useful for those that use it, but those that don't, why have steam? It's just another middle layer, and you might have issues with playing (or at least shopping) while steam is down. Another used layer means another extra chance for things to go wrong in some way.
If you want to have games in one place, just add them to same HDD / Folder and same folder in Windows start menu. xD

Why so much hate to Steam, the game can be available in Steam just to extend the amount of people it reaches, its not like I'm asking if the game will ONLY be available through Steam.
I didn't even knew of this game until the first gameplay came out, and surely there's a lot of people that would be interested and haven't heard of it either. Steam would be a nice mainstream platform to get fast to a lot of people.

@SilverMoonlight @powersalem During the livestream, Prometheus gave a lengthy response to your question right
.
-
@specter and he's right. Going to steam early is like playing russian roulette - you may win big but if you lose it's game over better wait and go there when it's worth it.
-
@silvermoonlight thatd be lovely i hope so

At first Fractured will not be on Steam, they want to give no charge to bad reviews for possible bugs or similar things, once they launch the official release or approach shuffle the put it on Steam.
This is said by the developers themselves, hopefully the game of its fruits, I'm excited to play it.
