Alpha Date Coming Soon!
-
For those of you not on Discord, I'm reporting last Jacopo's message here:
"@everyone the launch date of the Spring Alpha (formerly Winter Alpha ) is going to be revealed in the next spotlight video premiering in 5.30h from now - i.e. 10.30pm CET! See you soon, I'll be live in the chat! Link -->
"

@GreatValdus Thanks for cascading this information. It's appreciated.
Will be joining in.
-
So. it was officially announced that Spring alpha will start March 31st (at 11:59:59 PM)
-
@Ostaff finely
-
@Ostaff 31st just to say it will start in March...
-
They should really post these things on the forum themselves sighs.
-
@Logain I agree on that, or at least elect someone to act as social manager and keep information updated.
-
If someone was to do that though, it would need to be someone that is willing to volunteer their time, like @Specter does.
-
@GreatValdus @Xzait @Logain I assume Prometheus is going to write a blog post soon + newsletter. He just has a tendency to release the videos the moment they're done, before the news has been written yet.

@Specter said in Alpha Date Coming Soon!:
(...)He just has a tendency to release the videos the moment they're done, before the news has been written yet(...)
Which is understandable, but sort of bad practice. You want people to follow you on social media and add a little (unimportant) bonus there every now and then and you want people to join your Discord, but the main hub of activity should always and foremost be your own dedicated page, which is why it should feature all important news in a timely manner. An hour give or take, sure no big deal, but we're talking day(s).
shrugs

From my passive perspective, I logged into the forum july 2020 last I see notification on our guild discord that's linked to social media accounts and discord of Fractured. People just don't use dedicated page anymore since it is something you have to log into just to see same thing (if it was released same time) than compared to watching youtube(90% people do it daily) and just changing search to fractured.
-
@Specter as @Logain it's understandable but can lead to an unbalance of output informations.
For example I found out that the video was about the go out because I found the message on Discord, and lots of people don't use Discord daily, and could have missed it.@Bernu it's sure that not everybody logs always in the forum, but the news in the main page should be the most up to date place to see anyway, because it can be seen as lack of professionality to gather new information from side places like socials or chats or the likes, while the main blog news remains out of date.
That said, I'm not here to complain, I'm counting the days for the new alpha and trying to find a way to clone myself in the next two weeks, since on 30th March will also start New World alpha.
-
At least it will start this month
-
Hehehe. that depends on rather @Specter finds a last minute bug or not
-
@Logain is right about what the best practice is. I'm ready to settle for what I can get at this point, but it never hurts to articulate the best practice as an aspirational goal
