PvP Flagging Requirement

@Znick
Ye, there should be alternative ways, but they would be slower, hence more safe.

While all major pve locations requiring militia isn't the brightest idea for me, I think a mandatory choosing of militia at the start of ur character would be more reasonable and would just resolve the problem but as ones before me said there is a whole pvp system being developed, just gotta wait for it to happen.
Being forced to be PvP flagged from the start to the end is gonna be Tartaros, I want to say that the human world doesnt need to enforce it unless you're trying to find alternate/faster ways.

there will be no safe spots on the human planet btw, just go red and kill everyone if you feel like it
Ellaborate pls, I'd like to see real evidence saying that the criminal system would cause that. I'm saying that the human world should have both safe and unsafe spots.

What's the point of malitias when no-one actually uses them except for big clans,
Militias are 'groups' of people regardless of guild that will defend Syndesia against demon raids. Syndesia will be a lawful PVP, meaning it's up to people whether they get involved in PVP or not, therefore they have a choice whether they want to 'flag' for a coalition or not.
Tartaros is full PVP, you don't need to flag in there, they can come to Syndesia and fk around with humans, and militias will stop them.
As for human vs human in Syndesia, we don't know much yet but it's quite apparent that huge changes will be done cause the militia just doesnt make sense right now, i mean any individual can join a militia, but what if they're part of a guild that is predominantly from a different militia?
but to go back on your thread, i dont see it being necessary for everyone to join a militia. The reason why theres so many PVE location in Myr right now is because it is intended to be PVE WITH lawful PVP mechanics. Myr literally is just a testing ground for city building and many SYNDESIA alpha testing mechanics.
I suggest that you wait for Tartaros or to wait for a much bigger release of Syndesia.
I mean, even in Arboreous there will be pockets of area where a full loot pvp will be available so your PVP needs will definitely be met. Just give it time.

It looks like people are not familiar with planned PvP systems especially for Syndesia and now they are worried because of the current special testing environment. Therefore, it is good to start with Spotlight @Sativo just linked ^^. On top of that it is good to undertand that the gaming world will be divided to 3 different planets to cater 3 different playstyles. So there will eventually be 2 of 3 PvP planets, Tartaros without any restrictions and Syndesia with criminal/flagging system. That means also in syndesia you are able to attack unflagged players but with consequences. Therefore, current testing environment is not what there will be in future.
-
@MaxFlex i think the posts above explained it pretty well, the spotlight is pretty much all the info we have from a official side. Just think of the PvP ruleset of UO for the human planet.
-
What is with PvPer's trying to force PvEers to PvP? It's just not happening.
-
@Tuoni
Haha I know all about it. Idk I just wanted people to digest some of this crap.
Also I wanted to see peoples reactions.
-
@Zori They may go the route that New World did, where the guild is part of whatever Militia that the Guild Leader is in. That way a guild member may only choose the militia that they're Guild Leader has chosen for them.

Just to clarify for those who don't know, currently if a guild is in a militia (picked by guild leader), then they can invite people who are not in a militia, but they cannot invite players who are in a different militia. It pops up an error that "You cannot invite players of a different militia to join your guild." In turn, if a guild member decides to leave the militia, they first have to drop and leave the guild. So @Ostaff is correct in saying that the guild is part of whatever militia that the Guild Leader is in, and guildies can only change that by dropping the guild.

@Ostaff
Because is is a god damn MMO
-
@MaxFlex MMO does not = PvP. I think you are getting MMOs and Battle Royales mixed up. Fortnite and Overwatch are what you are looking for.
Unless you are refering to the "everyone has to join the milia that their guild leader did", then that is just the way that NW handled it.
Unless you are trying to say that "New World" is a god damn MMO... then... Yes.. I totally agree with you. New World is a MMO
-
@Ostaff
Yeah sorry that was impulsive of me, but an MMO withouot PvP isn't an MMO either.
Matter of fact NW removed their prominent PvP features which made me switch over to this game.
-
@MaxFlex A lot of MMOs main focus is at PvE and player cooperation rather than in PvP. I would say its more like other way around, every MMORPG needs the PvE aspect but PvP side is not necessarily needed.

https://fracturedmmo.com/feature-spotlight-6-pvp-alignment-crime/Perhaps for you but in general speaking... Anyway, I personally like when MMOs focus on both aspects, like Fractured, that is rare or non existent in sandbox games where typically the focus is only (or almost only) in PvP.
-
@Tuoni
Im not saying that PvP is the only thing that should exist. I just want more of it. In current testing is pretty much PvE and testing for bugs/glitches and that's fine, I was just hoping for some PvP action.
-
C'mon people, keep trashing on my idea.
Let's go.
-
Nah, it is already beaten to death. There will be more focus on PvP in future, therefore, you will eventually get what you want. Not sure what is planned next though but perhaps some deeper city management and crafting could be coming, and perhaps city sieges (just speculating).
