Stats layout in Alpha 2 test 1
-
Since Alpha 1, there have been several changes in the effect of the different attributes you can choose.
As it will most likely change again before going live, I only made a simple chart to give you an idea of how things affect your character at the moment.
How to read/translate this. Every attribute shows the changes with putting a certain amount of points into it (with the rest of the stats at 10).
Some attributes affect certain stat together.
*For example: Carry weight is affected by STR and CON.
If you have STR at 6 and CON at 6 the total weight you can carry is 62KG
Calculation: 70 KG (from STR at 6) minus the difference between CON 10 and 6 (8 KG) because the 70 from STR 6 is a combination of STR 6 and CON 10, which you have to correct.
If you have STR at 18 and CON at 18 the total weight you can carry is 146KG
Calculation: 130KG (from STR at 18) plus the difference between CON 18 and 10 (16 KG) because the 130 from STR 18 is a combination of STR 180 and CON 10, which you have to correct*

So the devs basically moved from ADaD version 2 to version 3+ (by removing all "paralysis/poison/death, rods/staves/wands, petrification/polymorph effects, breath weapons, and spells" and using simple "Evasion, Fortitude, Willpower"). Thats great news, Constitution has finally purpose. And it looks like luck will be pretty important (as it´s only thing charisma offers).
Edit: wait, constitution lost its endurance bonus ? Hope fortify save will be important.

i only wonder what luck do, and does critical dmg and hit work for magic too.
-
thanks for this !

NICE TABLE! This is very handy for all players! Thanks for this!

No real use found for luck so far, Charisma will affect the control of pets, so luck will normally affect the number of pets you can control
Crit also works for magic damage. I haven't seen a miss on my mage, so hit might not be in place for magic damage, not totally sure.
-
@Yitra i have 10 in perception and i miss a lot of missiles
-
@grofire Right, that is solved then. I run my mage with PER 18 because of the crit change and crit dmg
-
@Yitra i put dex 18 and int 18, but the eva seems not worth the trouble.
-
@Yitra Devs said LUCK affects CC (however they didn´t specify whether it affects the chance of ability to apply its effect, or its power - for example lenght of stun).
-
@Yitra seems like accuracy for mage is a never miss causing them to do way more consistent damage than a melee player just tried new character with perception maxed and stag helMet with plenty of misses still happening.
-
So there is no increase of spells damage with stats (INT) right? Only way to do it is reducing enemy resists and crit damage?
-
Well a whole bunch of abilities have int multiplier so we can say that int increase spell damage

Luck works only when the system rolls a chance. It doesn't affect the effect of the abilities because they depend on specific factors.
-
Stats go beyond 18 right? What are the caps?
-
@Farlander Cap will be 25 when we go live, unless that will change in the future
-
At PER 18, in-game the character sheet shows 3%, but does show 4% at character creation.
-
@kellewic Thanks I made a bug report for it
-
@Yitra thanks so much for doing that get melee the love that’s needed currently
-
@Absolit Not really, then we could say Perception increases melee damage (skill Assassinate), but it doesn´t, it´s only the ability damage that gets increased. Melee is increased by strength and in some phase of developement your character had also some modifier to magical damage, maybe via int. In tables there´s no such thing. Will it remain that way?
