B2P or F2P?
-
B2p or sub as soon as I hear F2p I tend to run for the hills after washing my eyes out with bleach, whilst slamming my male part repeatedly with a heavy wooden door.
F2p as you can tell has never ended well for me, and I rather do the above than mix with a F2p crowd.
-
B2P. I would be fine with a sub as well.
-
b2p or cosmetic f2p will be good
-
I prefer B2P, but F2P can work as long it is implemented correctly.
-
B2P with some kind of trial is a fantastic model. The real question is how monetization will work following purchase. That is super important because servers and continued development cost money. They have to make people want to buy stuff, but at the same time, make sure purchasing(or more importantly not purchasing) doesn't detract from the game play in any way.
-
I'm going for the B2P option, and then either the:
- Buy once, play free with optional subscription, or
- Subscription based
-
B2P has always gotten me better quality games and better service too. F2P is awesome but it's always going to be supplemented by a cash shop with the only intention being to make money.
-
i want this doing B2P
-
Oh, I hardly ever buy a game, but I'll end up paying much more for a game through a monthly subscription if I'm enjoying it. I guess if there was a free trial that gave a good feel for the game and the price wasn't too high, I'd be happy to get it and not have to pay a subscription.
I do think that if people put some money in to play a game, they tend to respect it and other players more. Also the F2P all too often means Free to be stomped on by the people who DO pay for all the boosters that are offered as options.
-
I am not a fan of F2P game models. It always ends up that you will pay more to be effective, be that time management with buffs, equipment, or resources you will need to pay to be top tier. I think everyone should pay the same and let skill dictate your placement in the rankings.

B2P with NO CASH SHOP or LOOT BOXES
-
Personally, I always prefer a good subscription based game. Free to play always ends up in a cash grab, and buy to play doesn't always get the developmental love to stick out the long haul.
-
B2P with a trial sounds nice. The cash shop approach makes sense if it's sticking to b2p, but I hope it doesn't end up as the only way to get cosmetics of note. Would be nice to have it as an easy way to get nice looks, but reserve the best for in game achievements or crafting.

I would like to see a system like Guild Wars 2 currently.
An option to play F2P, but limited in many ways, like no trading and no map chat etc. Sort of en extended trial of the game.
Then an option to buy the game and there will be no limitations anymore.
Problem with B2P is the fact there is no steady income for the developers, so a cash-shop is needed for that, with cosmetic and convenience items.
Biggest problem with going full F2P is that the income solely depends on the cash-shop and to make more revenue, games often tend to go P2W and that's a killer for games.
Problems with Sub is that it wards off many players, me included. I don't have a lot to spend and having to pay a sub every month is too much, since I only have like 5-10 bucks to spend on games each month, sometimes more. So, I think a B2P with cosmetic shop would be best option, with optional a limited F2P option so people can try the game out before buying.

@evolgrinz I definitely like the Guild Wars 2 and Eve Online system. Buy to play is the way to go though.
-
If I read it well this game will be a buy to play. I think it's on the FAQ.

b2p is best i think
-

B2P always look less problematic to the community
