Wondering what "other protections" might consist of... Moat monsters, emplaced weapons, spell barriers?

In Alpha, some loot drops are already rare. For instance, I've never had a bear's head drop.
Given that that would seem to be a relatively common "rare", I'd expect more of the same as more mobs/loot are introduced.
I wouldn't mind a single marketplace per city (like Albion). I also wouldn't mind shops with player-owned NPC merchants whose dialogue we could configure.

@Meiki but they will still just be angel and abomination... Not 3 new races for demon... One new race wirh 3 new racials.
The angels and abominations also get their own kinds as per their original sub-races, so originally blood demon will be a different type of angel than the angel of hellfire demon...
That's new to me! Where did you see that?
Wurm Online has a breeding system where you can take wild, untraited animals and breed them for speed or fighting.
Despite the awkward Wurm implemention, it's cool enough that yes, I think the basic idea is sound, and could be refined and developed into something downright awesome.
Alts sound like a marginal benefit at best for merchants; I have no problem with people using them to check markets.
You know, it occurred to me you don't need an alt to check markets in Albion: just strip naked and instantly journey to each city you're interested in and grab intel. Using an alt would be harder, I think.
At that, the easiest way is to partner with someone and examine two markets at once (which I've done).

You don't need alts to check the markets in Albion: apparently the game provide an API to the market database, so there are websites you can go to to browse the prices.
Caerleon being the primary city to transport to/from makes sense, since the trip is not risk-free, and again, I know of people making millions doing just that since f2p was introduced.
I've made a decent bit, however, transporting goods just between safe royal cities; those markets aren't flat, either.
Well if there is nowadays API for marketing, then the whole system is even worse than before. Zero sandbox feeling in that.
Caerleon does not make sense and that is why devs finally reacted and the world will or changed already.
I'm not following, really. The market and economy seem quite healthy to me, and engaging. Trying to stifle information flow seems like an impractical idea on the internet; might as well embrace it!
As to Caerleon, the devs now seem very interested in making the other royal cities viable home bases, and Caerleon's unique advantages are dwindling. That seems like a good thing.

Market checking seems fine to me in Albion. It's easy to find out when a disparity exists, sure, but you still have to do the work to exploit it, sometimes across PvP zones
It does not matter even in some cases you needs to travel through dangerous zones, because some people will do it anyway. It is just stupidily easy and hurts economy.
Hurts economy? Exploiting variances in local markets -is- economy. And if that exploitation were so easy, the variances would cease to exist. Perhaps I haven't been playing long enough, but I haven't seen that yet.
Camping other players and PvE hotspots (bosses & resources) are also easier with huge number of alts and can be really annoying if allowed freely.
Different kind of spying and camping behaviour are just the downside of alts and hard to get rid off if wanted. I am not saying there should not be alts (it is good there is some), I just want devs to keep the total number calm, especially if they do not have any preventing actions planned.
I hear you. All the same, attempting to force players to not use alts is a losing battle, one that would be costly and ineffective. Instead, I'd shoot for the following:
Market checking seems fine to me in Albion. It's easy to find out when a disparity exists, sure, but you still have to do the work to exploit it, sometimes across PvP zones (unlike Wurm Online, where you just mail the item(s) across servers, which is what -I'm- used to!).
If we can see which account characters belong to, that might prevent spying issues.
I could see having a toon for each race/class:
Eleven total, just to experience their diverse gameplay, not counting various attribute builds for each race!
Additional slots purchasable, hey? Interesting! Would they all be covered by a VIP membership (and thus all get extra knowledge points), or would you need multiple memberships for multiple toons?
As I recall, most resources on Tartaros will be dropped by animals/mobs (presumably especially nasty versions). Perhaps those are the unique resources, not the standard ones?
I'm quite curious about the logistics of interplanetary travel! What does it take to open a world gate for merchants, for instance?
Since you've posted this here, I'll say you were kicked because your behavior was toxic, and though I wasn't asked in advance, I wholeheartedly approved of the action, based entirely on what I had seen of you for myself.
