Why? I could see underground crystal and mushroom forest biomes on Arboreus, water-carved caverns on Syndesia, and a lava hell on Tartaros.

RE: Underground Nodes
Ooh, I love the idea of an underground world!
More unique resources, enemies, biomes, house plots, ruins, temples, and dungeons, plus entrances to the surface (so more ways to travel across the continents).
And yeah, the UnderDark was awesome in D&D.

RE: Higher Tier Funding Ideas
Even worse, some defensive abilities of Albion gatherer gear can lock you out of escape portals!

RE: WoW Classic is coming
For some reason, I've never tried WoW, or ever been interested. I think it's just not sandboxy enough.

RE: Week 74 - Weekly Drawing Winners
Yay, that put me over 200.
Thanks, and grats, all!

RE: Fractured Content Pills - Week 25, 2019
Wow, awesome!
Thanks for the update!
Oh, and the bed, chest, rug, trophies-on-the-wall, are also cool! Am Interested to see what functionality they all have.

RE: Bought the Governor pack
Ya. I meant I might select a town location there, although now I've settled on choosing a spot on Arboreus. Still want to have a toon or two on Syndesia.

RE: Bought the Governor pack
I suspect new land would be an entire continent bordered by water.

RE: Pledge Packs Are Going... With A Sale!
Ethics and business consequences aside, I notice only three limited pledge packs remain, and that seems like a good thing.

RE: Dedicated Town Sections
I definitely want to see the ability to designate or even name "quarters" within towns: Merchant's Quarter, Craftsmen's Quarter, Upper Quarter, etc.
Would be even cooler if we could construct interior walls with gates to physically separate the sections, and then set individual permissions per gate.
But yes, I definitely want to see NPC guard patrols and towers. I'd also love to be able to outfit NPC guards and towers with gear I've crafted.

RE: Animal taming and breeding.
Do you think the bots will be good enough to move from gathering location to gathering location, or will they just sit at one mushroom patch and harvest it every now and then when it refreshes?

RE: What albion did wrong- not a bash thread
The longest stretches I've found are between each Royal city on the rim, but even so, the world doesn't really feel "big".
We'll see what happens with the Percival? black zone rework: that looks like it could have a much different feel (far fewer portals, with the only portals being on the outland rim, and no portal at all in Caerleon).

RE: Bought the Governor pack
I'd check the news articles. This one has the most, I think:

RE: Bought the Governor pack
I don't know about incentives, but if you want to stay being governor, this is the most ironclad route I know of:
- Be a governor of a town on Arboreus (can't be conquered)
- Be your own guildmaster (can't be kicked out)
- Be a guild town (can't be voted out)
At that point, I think the only ways you can lose the town are idleness and lack of citizens (I believe that will degrade the town over time to a ruin that can be claimed).

RE: Animal taming and breeding.
In Wurm Online, grinding is highly repetitive, making it vulnerable to bots. I'm hoping Fractured's horizontal-progression gameplay is non-repetitive enough to make botting a waste of time.

RE: What albion did wrong- not a bash thread
@Canterbury said in What albion did wrong- not a bash thread:
I hated the maps in Albion. All really small and tricksy pathing. None of it felt like a big world where I could go anywhere. It felt really really really annoying to get around after the first hour or two.
I've gotten used to traveling around Albion, but due to portals, you're never really more than two/three maps away from a city (at least, I've never felt like I'm way out in the wilds, not even in the black zones).
The Fractured map for the single Syndesia continent, on the hand, feels huge.
No gates between maps, far fewer obvious choke points to camp, with a general feeling of the player being quite small.
I'm hoping that the map becomes more diverse (as opposed to the false hugeness of infinite uniformity), and handles high population well.

RE: User Generated Content for Tabards/Flags/etc
Wurm Online allows custom graphics for player-made PvP kingdoms, and the resulting cool-looking wagons/flags/etc. are actually hot items for PvE players who like to decorate.
One issue that's arisen, however, is copyright/license: at least one PMK had to change graphics because (as I recall) the original artist threatened to sue, which meant all the PvEers who had bought that PMK's gear to get a specific color scheme had everything changed under them (which was a mess).
Albion allows customization of guild crests, but within the game, so no copyright issues.
I notice, however, that the Aristocrat pledge pack allows creation of a custom guild crest, so I suspect that won't be made generally available.

RE: Steampunk Technology: What we can expect to see in Fractured?
Steam-powered armor would be awesome!
(Of course, at that point, how much of a stretch is it to actual tanks?
)
