Alts can be a bad thing, but I don't think anything can be done about them.
Examples in which alts offer advantages: if the game has a crafting focus system, having more alts = more money. Scouting ahead with a cheaply geared alt to protect your main from gankers / camping an alt outside a dungeon so you can see who comes in. If the game has travel limitations for zergs, these can be bypassed by having multiple zvz-ready alts located at key areas.

RE: Is Alt-Spamming even a bad thing?
This doesn't seem to be the case, or am I unaware of something?
I was talking about ways in which alts can be advantageous in general since there's a lot of stuff we don't know about Fractured yet.
That's a bit of two conditions at once situation. It's not just about having multiple characters, but about running multiple clients/characters at once. And that should be prohibited by the rules. as it indeed offers drastic advantages.
Some people have multiple devices that can run the game. Some use VPN. In my case I can even run the game on 2 different machines with different ISP (wired <100ping, and 4g shared from mobile for ~200ping). How can you tell that a character which is a few screens away is someone's alt anyway?

RE: Item dropped from mobs
@GamerSeuss said in Item dropped from mobs:
I'm okay with these kinds of drops, but not dropping magic items or things the creature wouldn't be using is silly. A Troll goes at me with a huge Maul, then the Maul drops, I'm cool with that! Goblins dropping Goblin Armor suits and primative weapons and poisons is fine as well.
Well, as I said in the OP, some people think everything should be crafted by players, so we shouldn't have full item drops. It's not about if it makes sense for a bear to drop swords, but about how it affects the economy. In fact, I'm also in that camp. I just tried to offer a solution in which everything is crafted by the players, yet we have occasional item drops from mobs.

RE: Int and Cha required stats? = Unbalanced?
CHA is not useless, it's just that at this point the archetypes that would benefit the most from it are either not popular or not possible to play yet: buffers, summoners, illusion school users.
@OlivePit said in Int and Cha required stats? = Unbalanced?:
Is that not what mounts and carts are for?
Yes, but @GamerSeuss has a point. For example, soloing as a 6STR archer is very annoying because the arrows alone weigh a lot and you go through them very fast. How about transports, if the gankers manage to CC & dismount you, reaching the weight limit or not can mean the difference between certain death and the possibility to escape on foot.

RE: Honest thoughts on stress test.
-> enchating
Each reagent has 3 possible properties (body, fire, chaos, air etc), each with a different value. You can put up to 5 reagents to get a combination of properties which will activate an item enchant. For the first enchant level, each property has to be at level 2 (out of possible 5). The higher the enchant level, the more property value you need to enchant it. For example, if you want damage increase on weapon, you need to put up to 5 reagents which will get out these values: 2body, 2transform, 2chaos, 2 earth. One possible combination to get these would be: honeynail mushrooms (2body, 3 transform, 3 life), rabbit paw(3 chaos, 2soul, 3 energy) and woolfteeth (3body, 3destroy, 2earth). In total you will have (5body, 3transform, 3life, 3chaos, 2soul, 3energy, 3destroy, 2earth). As you can see, these 3 reagents together as enough to enchant your weapon with weapon damage tier 1. The problem is that you also have a bunch of leftover properties which activate other combinations (enchants) and you can't chose which one you want.
The above combination might fit the requirements for both weapon damage and item durability, but you can't select which one you want so you might end up with item durability instead.
You can find a list reagents and properties combinations in this thread: https://forum.fracturedmmo.com/topic/9927/enchanting-table-chart-alpha-2-february-open-playtest-> bows
Bow and spear skill are not implemented yet, but I think they will be at some time.Regarding arrows and poison: if you kill wolves/bears/deers, you get animal bones, out of which you can craft bone arrows with the same stats as the stone ones. At this point poison doesn't work on melee weapons. I don't really mind crafting arrows and poisons, but I see your point.

It had the same issue and it solved for me after I selected an icon for the talent tree (ctrl+click on an icon). -
RE: Knowledge System Account Wide
If they did this everyone would have a bunch of alts - they would have an efficient pve character and then all sorts of niche characters that are usually very hard to level up (for example single target high mobility ganker). Do you want everyone to have a free efficient ganking character that otherwise would be very hard to level up? I wouldn't.

RE: Meridian - PvX/Syndesia - International - Diplomacy/Politics/Trade/Warfare
@OlivePit We do have a guilded channel with all that info, but I think only members can see it. What I can tell you is that we have active and helpful people on both EU and NA prime times. As soon as the server goes live, everyone's top priority is to gather materials, share the deposit coordinates and contribute to the city buildings. If you arrive late to the test, people will give you a hand. Some even share their personal stash of reagents. How about the organizational structure, it's pretty much what all the big guilds are doing: you have leadership + elder circle -> different kind of officers: city planning, economy, crafting, gathering, internal disputes, plus more to come when mass scale pvp will be implemented, probably shotcallers, diplomats, logistics -> rest of the guild. I've been in this guild for 9 months and I like it. I mostly enjoy pvx, but there's activity for any kind of player.

I am learning to bake right now.
PS: As for sandbox game suggestions, I'd say Rimworld or Mount and Blade.

RE: February 2020 Playtest Survey
@Prometheus
It doesn't bother me because I missed the kickstarter, but there's a history of people getting upset over developers selling kickstarter exclusives after the campaign ended. The things that could potentially upset backers are the exclusive cosmetics (statue, armor, horse skin). On a second thought, only 5 people bought these packs at full price - everyone else got them on a good discount. I did the survey later and ended up voting for adding the packs..PS: In the event of adding the packs, how long will they be available? Will we be able to upgrade from a current pack to knight and then immortal?
PPS: Why did you mention me? I didn't even post in this thread. -
RE: How big should guilds allowed to be?
I know it's settled so far, but I'd also want a bunch of small guilds instead of Albion-style mega alliances, with one thing: all characters that share the same account should count as one spot in a guild.

RE: Eclipse Question
In my opinion it would be pretty cool if in the eyes of demons all the humans and animals are seen as generic characters without individual names and vice-versa, but it probably won't happen for the same reason all races speak the same language: the devs want inter-racial guilds.

Hide user signatures?
Is there a way to hide user signatures? On other platforms you could ignore a specific user's signature, or just hide all by default. Is it possible here?

RE: Week 128 - Weekly Drawing Winners
@Specter
Thanks, but will the foundation level go beyond 250? Because if the answer is no, maybe those of us who reached the max level already can opt-out, so newer active members have a better chance at winning these points. -
RE: B2P vs F2P
I prefer b2p + monthly sub unless the game is dying and going f2p is the only option to keep it alive. I don't play f2p games because often you end up spending more money if you want to be competitive.

RE: How will be decided which group takes a farming spot on Arboreus (animal planet)?
@Pwnstar said in How will be decided which group takes a farming spot on Arboreus (animal planet)?:
Why can't you share mobs?
Because I'm not a hippie. If I go to farming with my buddies, we will most likely try to do it in an efficient way which doesn't work well when other people are hitting the same mobs. I will probably not even have a character in Arboreus, but from my experience this is a topic worth talking about because a lot of people don't like "sharing mobs" and there doesn't seem to be a method to dispute the farming spots.
@asspirin
Yes, but "rich on resources" is a very vague statement. Besides, these PvE spots will probably be of different difficulties, drop different items etc, so inevitably some will be very popular and others not so much.
And I hope huge guilds who hold monopolies over huge areas won't be a thing here. I mean, that is one of the reasons I got bored of Albion - Mercia was supposed to be the merciless endgame continent, yet if I traveled to the half side owned by squad 90% of the players I met where allies. Two seasons before that I was in ego and same thing, if I played in E Anglia, most of the players I met were pink. Huge alliances are boring. -
RE: Week 128 - Weekly Drawing Winners
@humerus
I know that a few months ago it was increased from 200 to 250, and I'm asking if they plan to go beyond 250 with the rewards.
If the max level that gives rewards will remain at 250, I would like to opt-out of being selected in this raffle to give newer active members a better chance to win the points. However, if they plan to increase it to 500, then I'll need the points as well. -
RE: Opening inventory during fight ?
@Xzoviac said in Opening inventory during fight ?:
just make them so you have to make them or buy them, cant spam them if you cant make them, and cant spam them if you cant afford them
Ok, I don't think this is a healthy way to handle consumables. They should be affordable to everyone.
Special consumables slots vs taking a spot in the skillbar; cooldown for each consumable vs a potion toxicity meter. It's all the same to me as long as they not spamable as in hack'n'slash games and everyone can afford them.
