Another SpatialOS game that's currently in development does exactly that. Hence why I hope Fractured would go that route as well, but hey, only the developers can tell us

I hope that 'renegade beastmen, redeemed demons, good and evil humans' is less a result of quests and more an outcome of the 'alignment system', where every action in the sandbox is evaluated against your alignment, not just in pre-given/designed quests.

They can't. Mixed guilds will be alignment-restricted anyway! So you'll see guilds of good Humans and Beastmen, or guilds of evil Humans and Demons.

I kind of wonder how beastmen and demons can be in the same Guild. At least lore and even gameplay wise. That's going to be an interesting concept when we see it!

I don't see a reason why a beast shouldn't ride a beast, since humans are beasts as well (we just tend to forget that).

The tricky part might be finding (enough and decent) colors for each group tier. Remember that they plan to expand the Levels to 200 (and potentially past that). There's only so many (useful) colors to choose from.
That said, if it works and is easy enough, I'd say go for it. More incentive to level up won't hurt

With the added benefit that the devs won't need gamemasters for the sole purpose of keeping the less appropriate designs out.
That and possibly a less 'randomized' appearance for houses in a village and more of a realistic, environment and culture based look.

As much as I'd love to see the Kickstarter sooner than later, I hope they take their time and have a 'demo' ready (as they have intended) to show beforehand. And since they have noted that most people nowadays do not understand the concept of '(pre-)alpha', they better take the time for that demo to look good.

So the gods you can choose depend on which race you selected.
As for which gods exist:
Beastmen - Elysium, which is thought to be the source of Arboreusβ primal energy; Tyros, god of light and justice; Nelena, goddess of the wild and mother of all beastmenHumans - Iridia, goddess of fortune and mother of all humans, and Galvanos, god of knowledge and keeper of the nine paths of magic, who always showed a great appreciation for the human persistence and fascination with progress
Demons - After the Fracture, Tartaros became the prison of the dread Babilis, left to be the only god watching over the planet and its demonic progeny.
I doubt there's any bonus or drawbacks (yet) though that sounds like a fancy idea!

We do not even know when the Kickstarter is going to launch, so a release date is kind of... impossible right now
