Player Shop In Fractured
-
Will there be a currency in Fractured and if so will I be able to make a player made shop that I can run myself and sell items I have crafted
-
@crache Yes, there will be currency and you'll be able to sell your wares through an NPC assigned to you in a city.
-
@specter Thanks so much for answering I was really hoping for the shop I set up to be run by myself but i'll take what I can get
-
@crache
NPC is better. You do not have to be logged in to sell your stuff to other people. You just give them to NPC and he sells them for you. And in the meantime you can go adventuring/crafting/partying be it either in game or in real life

I think the NPC shop has the benefit of being able to sell things without spending your playing time spamming chat channels with your goods. It will be interesting to see how that plays out across different cities or worlds.

People spamming global chat channels, asking where they can buy item X for price Y?
-
@jozef they will, i am quite sure about it, even with NPC shops. People want it the easy way
-
@kralith So true and to @jozef 's credit I didn't even think of the flip side of the equation.Which now that it's brought up can be equally annoying.
Maybe there will be a concierge service in major cities that will allow players to search for item x and at least who is selling and where if not price. That's mostly wishful thinking though on my part

I doubt it. The devs chose not to use an auction house. They want players to be able to play the role of a merchant. If you need something urgently, you'll have to buy from the first merchant who has what you want. Merchants will be able to establish a name for themselfs, as the good to player to buy certain items in a certain region.

@jozef I feel like having merchants in a game without the auction house is a good thing because it actually gives a reason for being a good player that follows laws then again I might be bias because Iām planning on being a merchant myself and Iām in a merchant guild

An auction house is nice for players who want to buy cheap items and don't care about crafting and trading. But, by adding AHs to MMORPGs a piece of gameplay and immersion has been removed. The same thing goes for banks, huge inventory, fast travel, automated lfg, ....
