    Hi all,

    Last but not least, the two following criminal flags restrict your Alignment selection as well: Thief. You get this when stealing from a Good or Neutral player. It lasts for 24 real-world hours, and prevents you from choosing a Good Alignment.
    Murderer. You get this when executing a Good or Neutral player. It lasts for 48 real-world hours, and forces you to pick an Evil alignment.

    How a beastmen/human aligned good could interact with a player with Thief flag with "neutral alignment" ? Is it possible to do a preventive strike at first sight without waiting a violent act of the thief ?

    How to prevent a murder ? If we see a guy (without a murderer flag) going to murder a another player could we go to the fight to turn around the table and prevent the murder ? what consequence ?

    Thief will be flagged as evil so good player are allowed to kill them.

    Nice question. I hope that neutral/good players attacking neutral/good player will egt insta flag (evil) so the others can easly kill them without ruin their align. Otherwise you ahve to wait till he get's flagged.

    In fact what i understand it's Thief flag prevent to choose "Good alignement" not "neutral alignement" so not evil...

    @gofrit Thief is a staus. You will not able to change your alignment back for 2 days. Meanwhile you will be evil. Both neutral and good can kill evil people without karma consequences.

  • TF#7 - AMBASSADOR

    Basically, thieves are forced to play as Neutral or Evil characters.

    Thief. You get this when stealing from a Good or Neutral player. It lasts for 24 real-world hours, and prevents you from choosing a Good Alignment.

    If a thief chooses to be neutral, you can kill him, but you'll be flagged as Aggressive.

    Hurting a Good or Neutral player doesn’t turn your Alignment to Evil, but flags you as Aggressive – a condition that gets you treated as Evil in many ways. For instance, Good players become able to hurt you, while other Neutral players become able to do so as well without consequences.

    If he for some reason chooses to be evil, you can kill him without any penalties.

    While Evil, you’re free to perform hostile actions against any other player – just like when you’re Neutral. However, other players can also do so against you, without consequences – such as being flagged as Thief or Murderer or losing Karma. In fact, they will gain Karma by getting the world rid of you!

    So basically, if you see an evil thief, you can kill him with no consequences. If you see a neutral one, you can kill him, but you'll be flagged as Aggressive. If you want to kill someone who isn't a Murderer and isn't Evil, there will be consequences.

    I don't think Thief status makes you evil in alignment, although it prevents you from choosing a good alignment (so you can still choose Neutral); however it does flag you so Neutral and Good players can attack you without consequence. Looking at Spotlight 6, it seems the act of hurting a Good or Neutral player flags you as Aggressive (for a few minutes) and so other Neutral/Good players can attack you before you murder or steal.

    Would be usueless. Good players must be allowed to kill flagged players without penalities. Neutral or Evil.

  • TF#7 - AMBASSADOR

    @finland

    That's your opinion, but it's not how it works. If a player is Neutral and you attack him, there are penalties. Doesn't matter if he's a thief or not.

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

    @nelchael that would be stupid. Flagged people are bad and must punished. If good players are not allowed to do it without consequences it will be something to fix.

  • TF#7 - AMBASSADOR

    @finland

    A thief is someone who steals items. He hasn't attacked anyone. If you murder him for being a thief, there should absolutely be consequences. Being flagged as Aggressive for doing so is definitely fair, and doesn't need fixing.

    if you just want to murder anyone you want, even if they're not flagged as Evil or Aggressive, maybe you should try being Evil yourself. Good people don't murder thieves without consequences.

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

    @nelchael dude what makes people requit is not the kill but the fact of losing the equip. Good players need something to counter thiefs.

  • TF#7 - AMBASSADOR

    @finland

    Finding a knocked out player and taking his things isn't as bad as murdering someone and taking his things. If all crimes are equally bad, that'll just create an unfair system. Stealing is bad, but murder is worse. Therefore, there should be a smaller penalty for being a Thief than a Murderer. That's why if you're a Murderer, you're forced to be Evil, and if you're a Thief, you're forced to be Neutral. And you can't kill Neutral players without a penalty. It' that simple.

    To put it in simple terms: a Good person is someone like Batman, who doesn't kill thieves. Someone who kills thieves is like Punisher, and that guy is Neutral at best.

    The Aggressive flag lasts for a few minutes only, but some particularly despicable actions like stealing or executing a player may add additional conditions (such the aforementioned Thief and Murderer flags) that last for a much longer time.

    taken from the spotlight. This means that if you are enutral and you go to steal things you will be flagged as thief. This is an aggressive flag status and good players become able to hurt you cause you are treated as Evil.

  • TF#7 - AMBASSADOR

    @finland

    Aggressive and Thief aren't the same thing.

    The Thief flag means you stole from someone, and it forces you to be Evil or Neutral. Nothing more.

    Aggressive means you attacked someone, and it's similar to being Evil.

    If you steal from someone without attacking them, you're flagged as Thief, not Aggressive. On the other hand, if you attack a Neutral player, you will be flagged as Aggressive.

    From what we know, the only way to steal from someone is by attacking them until they are knocked out. The act of attacking a good or neutral player will flag you as aggressive, and stealing or murdering them afterwards will extend that flag. I don't know what would happen if you stole from someone who's already knocked out, but it would only make sense to flag that person aggressive as well to prevent players from cheesing the mechanic.

  • TF#7 - AMBASSADOR

    @finland

    Bold text won't make you sound smarter, trust me.

    Hurting a Good or Neutral player doesn’t turn your Alignment to Evil, but flags you as Aggressive.

    Do you see the word "hurting"? Looting isn't hurting. Being looted doesn't hurt you. Being attacked hurts you.

    If you hurt someone, you're Aggressive. If you loot someone, you're a Thief. If you hurt someone and then loot them, you're both Aggressive and a Thief.

    @vengu

    You can get knocked out from PvE, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to loot someone then.

    About cheesing, the article mentions that you lose a huge amount of Karma after stealing from someone, so if you keep stealing, you'll eventually become Evil and the other players will take care of you.

  • TF#10 - CONSUL

    @nelchael No way you can not understand what's written there.

    1. Hurting = stealing and killing, not only attacking
    2. Aggressive flag = you will get this flag when you do certain actions like attacking neutral/good, stealing, killing.
    3. Aggressive status = treated as Evil. Good players can hurt you without consequences.

    PS: Bold fonts are used to emphasize highlight important points. That's not a way to look smarter.

  • TF#7 - AMBASSADOR

    @finland

    That's your opinion. It's literally not written anywhere that stealing = hurting. It's not written anywhere that stealing flags you as Aggressive. If you choose to interpret it that way, that's your choice, and we'll see if you're right when pre-alpha comes out, but you really shouldn't state your opinion as a fact.

    Hurting does not turn you to evil but flags you as Aggressive. A condition that gets you treated as Evil. The Aggressive flag lasts for few mins but particularly despicable actions like stealing or executing may add additional conditions that last for much longer time.

    So it's written and I have wuoted it here. It's not something I dreamed.
