Just wonder who’s doing the music or are you looking for someone?
-
I'll be the one writing and recording the first part of the soundtrack, after the KS we'll have some tracks written by some musicians I usually work with. Mix and Master will mostly depend on our funds after Kickstarter
-
Can you tell us the general direction you're going to take with the music? Is it going to be the same for everyone? Or for example metal music for Tartaros and Irish folk for Arboreus?
-
hope the music is epic

oh, can you pre-release a track or two on soundcloud? I'd suggest trying to release a soundtrack album also on soundcloud. This could be an early acquired backer tier in KS then released later on to the public post release.
I asked because I found a person via reddit that created some royalty free music and I suggested they hit up some Kickstarter and Indiegogo video game campaigns to try to get their music out there. I'm not sure how well they do because my hearing is messed up with construction work so I'd leave that to those with better ears.

The planets will surely have different soundtracks, though there's still some work to do before we can dive deeper into it. Generally speaking, Diablo II would be a good reference, especially for Tartaros tracks. Arboreus is going to be a bit more Symphonic, in a chilled way (think of Oblivion, King and Country has the right sound) and Syndesia will be much more Epic and a little "victorian" (battle in the sky - Walid Feghali but a bit darker). By the way, this is to be taken with a grain of salt, things may change during the process.
We'll surely consider that, it will mostly depends on the final quality of our soundtrack, it will be easier to evaluate once we have the first drafts

they were found randomly, so I'm not holding it against you or DS if you decide to not use them.
Good to hear the planets will offer different styles of music. I'd love a behind the music sheet video showing how it was created and performed! I loved the Blizzcon section on the music. Wildstar had a few videos going behind the scenes and watching it being created and played, it was amazing to see the work and results of that work.

I hope the music isn't too ambient, really. Constant ambient music is kinda boring and sometimes it may as well not be there. : (
-
Choose what you choose, let's trust them, so far they have not disappointed us
-
Awesome that every planet will be different. Cerrainly look forward to it.

I've just been informed that this information is outdated. Dynamight is working with other composers now.
-

-

Any news about music, since we are approaching the KS campaign?
I think music is of paramount importance to create the right atmosphere while playing: does anyone remember the soundtrack of Diablo in Tristram? Or the Protoss themes in SC1? Or many of WoW soundtracks (I'm a little biased towards Blizzard games ). Or "Vergen by night" in The Witcher 2? Or "Night theme 1" in Skyrym? Or the scores of Mass Effect (...1...)?

@sunlion
I do, somewhat, remember Tristram music but I mostly turn it off or place it so low that I can't hear it. This is a pvp game and I won't have the music playing when a person can walk up and attack me. I need to hear those SFX!
