Yes it will. It's however not a priority, so will be a quality of life update in the future, after release.

I'm so glad to here this! Fishing is a really relaxing activity that usually makes a nice profit. So I hope we can sell our fish to NPC vendors or cook them to make food that we can sell to other players

fishing is another type of farming ! and it should reward the more patient

Takes the sword and carves out an ice cube.
Picks up the ice cube full of frozen fish, and takes it home to refrigerator.
