Log of characters' interactions in game and out game ?
-
Hi, will we have a log entry about the character's interactions in game and out game ?
Like :Belgan stab with his wooden staff by 10points the Hellish demon
Hellish demon with is hellmouth fire strike Belgan by 666 fire damages points
Belgan launch Meteor Ice and critical hit ! Hellish demon take 6666pts
Hellish demon open a portal and return to his mother.Principally to analyse our combat when resting ?
-
I hope this is toggle-able. I always hate that play by play combat lol
-
you want a combat log that saves to a txt file?
-
So like Urban dead?
-
If I'm able to open a portal and return to my mother, then sure.
-
This seems like a cool idea but could encourage people to buy multiple accounts just to have afk people keeping a town fixed and all that.

Yeah that's it.
Better to have one to understand what' going on a combat online of offline
-
problem with combat logs is people will min-max the best build for activities. this can stop growth. it also performs many read/writes to my SSD which i don't appreciate.

An option of active/inactive in game's setup ?
-
usually you have to enable a log but producing numbers outside of testing is pretty bad. you'll have groups or guilds that requires specific builds, you'll have people that will be shunned because they aren't using said builds.
-
@jetah If a player is ejected or have the impossibility to enter in a guild because of this "build"... better to him if he want to have fun isnt'it ? How you could have fun in guild like that If you can't play like you want ?
Else, when you have 400 skills I think a log (with a switch enable/disable) could be usefull to understand why you can't kill a mob in an efficient way

That's his entire point. Every worthwhile guild is at least mildly competitive and he's concerned that giving people raw numbers will encourage munchkin guilds, making it so nobody can find a guild that lets you play your own character and not, essentially, one of theirs.
Else, when you have 400 skills I think a log (with a switch enable/disable) could be usefull to understand why you can't kill a mob in an efficient way
I think it'll be pretty obvious when you're not "killing a mob efficiently", by virtue of it not dying when you hit it with things

a youtuber or twitch streamer will 'create a build' and it'll be used by their viewers and those viewers will expect everyone to be used that build. what i do hope is that counters are previliant.
i'm saying that i haven't seen any good come from combat logs nor dps meters. best i've seen is 'you can see yours but if you post it in chat you can get banned'.

I understand you're point of view but my own experience in mmorpg show me an other vision.
If a tool exist and if one use this tool to do bad thing, what we need to do ? In your way, you want to stop this tools (it's what I understand in your post), in my way I prefer to change how people use it That's all.

it's easier to not create the tools than to change human behavior.
