Contest: Involve people?

Hello Folks!
What do you think about "artist contest"?
A contest where Fractured team propose a subject to draw or paint.The winner, or the first X position, could be rewarded with "Foundation point" to level up faster, or some things else (in my opinion the reward is not important
). The same could be made with musics, stories and other things i suppose.I think about it because i really want see this project realized: this seems different from the most part of the mmorpg i've play or follow. To make this possibile i ask to myself if there is another way to help, not just follow or donate, and i think about contest. BlackDesertOnline Team for example, do this kind of contest to create games trailers for their game on youtube.
It could be a good idea?

sure it is not usefull now, it could be more work for them at this time, but one day it could be usefull and nice...or not

I don't think he meant that as a "design something that will be in the game", more like a fan art contest with some points or token rewards.
I love the idea, although I have zero artistic capabilities and wouldn't participate, I would rather enjoy seeing the entries.

Interesting idea. I'm sure they enjoy seeing suggestions like this, to get people involved. For those less with less artistic abilities, perhaps storytelling could be involved.

It is interesting. Community involvement for some, being left out for others. Its a double edged sword. I have seen several communities do contest after contest with pretty nice prizes for art, after a while it disconnects the non artists. Do not get me wrong, I love to see the art that comes out, it blows me away what people can do. Forum titles are cool rewards, doubtful to bring on spite. That could be a thing.

A great idea, but, as Ghoster pointed out, it excludes non-artists. It's fine to do such things, I love fan art, there're some stunning works around. But it would need to expand eventually, to include wider masses.
However, at this point in development, I don't think they should do such a thing. They're very few people working on an ambicious project, I doubt there's room for fan contests now.

we don't even have content yet, so I doubt this is currently viable.

This would be up to @Specter and @Prometheus to say yes to but there could be copy right issues papers to sign etc etc

Less content means more room for imagination
Besides, some art may turn out to be inspirational for the dev team. I see no reason not to create a subforum for creative people to share their visions, in one form or another. Need not to be a contest, just for the sake of it.

I guess it's still a little to early to do that, and personally I think that give foundation points to the winners it's kinda unfair cus not everyone has an "artist" side to be able to draw something
Contests like this should be when the game is about to release and the rewards should be in game stuff, in my opinion

Art contest can just be to kill some time ^^ I vote for, as I love draw
To developers to see wich rewards they can give if they are ok with it

@Hellmaster91 that's a very nice idea! It's not the only type of contest we could run, by the way. Character backgrounds (or more in general, writing) could be another fertile ground. We'll think about it!

We're going to need more lore before we can write backgrounds for our characters.

Very interesting, for sure! That's one contest I'd definitely like to participate in!
