New World by Amazon - Anyone interested?

While we are still waiting quite a long time of Fractured release most people are going to play something else during the time of waiting. Amazon studios will release New World MMO in may 2020 and it looks like kind of interesting concept tbh. It reminds me a little bit of Fractured at least what it comes to the feeling of survival aspect and the freedom in character progression.
I have been awere of this project few years but I have lately started to follow more closely when the development is nearly at end and the game is almost finished. I am not going to rush and buy the game too much in advance but I am going to examine the upcoming beta test very accurately and perhaps make some decisions after that.
Anyone else interested of New World?

I looked at it, but it didn't really jump out to me.
-
Yep, I pre-ordered it. I'm very interesting in seeing how their goal of integrating PvE with opt-in PvP works, as well as their system of Corruption being an ever-present PvE pressure.
-
What I have read about the co-op of PvE and PvP it could actually work. Both are needed to develop towns and help with war when fighting other factions. The game looks visually awesome and I really like the 17th century style of weapons and armors. Those are a little bit different what we have used to see but still enough close to Middle Ages. I like the idea to have three weapons sets what you can swap on the fly in middle of the fight.

Interesting to see. I need to check it out

Yep, I pre-ordered it.
After you have tested the upcoming beta I demand a report.
-
Hopefully they invite me to closed beta!
-
May be we'll meet there in the Closed Beta, I pre-ordered it just few days ago to see how the Lumberyard engine works (curious game dev here). I hope that it'll not require a high-end rig and be able to play with my current laptop (at least with minimal graphics settings)

I looked at it based on this post - if I get a beta invite I'll check it out, but I'm not dropping cash on it right now - a fist bump emote isn't worth $40 to roll the dice.

Yo the game is FREAKING AMAZING!! I cannot wait for the full release!

That is smart. There is no reason to rush especially when the release is so close, about inside 1,5 months.

I've participated in testing and it didn't meet my expectations.. The change in direction on pushed me further away. I was grateful for the opportunity but decided to pass as they've gone away from their original vision.

The change of direction was of course a really bad news for all hardcore OWPvP fans. I do not personally mind because I am fine with both rulesets. However, I hope the devs will consider starting separated PvP servers for those who would like to have a full loot system in use. This is not happening for release but I have understood that the devs will at least consider make this happen in future. In my opinion PvP servers should be already at launch because otherwise Amazon has already lost part of the former players/testers for good.

The only reason I pre-ordered was because they dropped unrestricted open-world PvP. So, while they may have lost some players, they gained some as well (and I suspect they gained more than they lost).

This post is deleted!

I don't like preordering anymore bc I've been getting burned the past few years on games I've waited on. But this one gives me hope. I really want New World to be a good one bc I'm so freaking tired of playing WoW.
-
The game looks like any other game out there and doesn't really have anything special about it anymore.
-
The just delayed it until at least August

Well with this change they will definitely get more new players than what they have lost. Hardocre PvP fans are a niche but I still hope devs will decide to open PvP servers as well.
