I’ve seen a number of worthy studios cropping up in the past few years. Pretty exciting time

RE: Weapon animations based on build
For how tiny the characters are, I've never been that into the attention to detail on such things in games like Fractured. Now in things like Star Citizen, where I AM the viewpoint of the character... it's a little different.
If they think it's a worthy investment and it wouldn't take too much time, I'd be all for it. Just depends I suppose

RE: Optional wasd movement?
I'd just like to say that I am effectively using WASD right now in the Fractured alpha and it is working splendidly. Using re-wasd I have the mouse movement mapped to the dpad of a controller. You know, the classic 4 buttons for movement? Often noted as WASD on a keyboard ;)?
Adding legitimate WASD control would make native support much more fluid. As it stands I need to have a toggle button for movement (ie. click and hold to initiate movement). If there was WASD movement I could separate the mouse control from movement

RE: Fractured Alpha Game Play Videos
I found the BR event to be mildly interesting. Pretty creative for what's currently available in game

RE: suggestion on attracting huge mass of new players to buy FracturedMMO
Once Fractured is done, I’m sure the gameplay will speak for itself haha. Considering it already does with what little is in currently.

RE: Can the Immortal pack include an extra key for a friend?
Kind of doubt it, sorry bud. Something to save up for, or to look forward to a more fleshed out experience

RE: Bought the Governor pack
So what happens when all the plots/towns are owned?
-
RE: Bought the Governor pack
Interesting question popped into my head after reading through this... has there been any literature on how land takeover/town ownership will work for beastmen?

RE: I suggest to continue the Foundation program
So they should continue the Foundation program post release as well?
-
RE: I suggest to continue the Foundation program
As someone who has been around awhile, since the Kickstarter... I probably COULD have gotten those higher tier rewards. But, I didn’t. I decided to wait until the game started getting fleshed out a bit more before becoming active.
I honestly think they should be for those who battled it out from the beginning. It’s a nice thank you to them.
Sure... they could implement a new system for the alpha... for the beta... for post release. But that’s just splitting hairs really. Once the NDA lifts, it will be much easier to be involved than it was the last 6 months.
Of course, the selfish side of me says keep it... I must have the shiny

RE: I suggest to continue the Foundation program
I think the idea was to reward those who were active the most when the game needed it the most... when there's no content being made in the area. Once the NDA lifts, people will be spreading the word consistently.
This is coming from a lowly leveled Foundation member lol

RE: Developer updates regarding game status?
I actually think it’s detrimental to release too much upfront. Sure, it’s important to cater to your current followers. However, when you start making more community content... there’s inherently more outreach. There’s a time and place for that imho. And I don’t think the pre-alpha is it unfortunately. The game is going to take 2+ years to make (and that’s on the current plan). The Kickstarter was merely a year ago (not even).
Although more videos would be great, it takes longer to develop content than it does document/video it. If they start putting out more content, eventually they’ll hit a drought of new stuff. It’s a bad example, but star citizen ran into that issue where 2016/2017 was the year of dead content. So did dual Universe a little bit.
So the issue becomes: do we release more videos now, and potentially run out of content to divulge later (thus causing stagnation in what people are used to) or, do you release it in pre-defined phases that corresponds to your development plan. Another issue with star citizen is they started making videos about promises when they ran out of content to talk about it. So now they have so much more to deliver than their already ambitious progress, because of the promises they’ve made.
Sure they can go back on their word without it being too much of a fuss, but they’re obviously going to try and accomplish their word.
Rambled a bit, but I think my points are somewhere in there

RE: Developer updates regarding game status?
Not really weird at all imho. They have updates every month, the most recent detailing what their plans for alpha 1 were.

RE: suggestion for guild Base
I could see something like that working, where you can get a randomly populated dungeon via procedural generation. But, wouldn’t implementing a dungeon go against what they’ve been going for? A dungeon would be inherently instanced wouldn’t it?
-
RE: suggestion for guild Base
Agreed. In addition, although there are people with extremely creative skills, there are others that lack gameplay design (like me) who would create dungeons/npcs etc. I guess what I’m trying to say is I’d rather have the devs create content, than people like me.
It’s a cool idea, and shards online was going to do that... but it flopped pretty hard. Maybe for unrelated reasons, I don’t know. I didn’t follow it to closely as I wasn’t interested in such content

RE: Guild Attire Rewards
I don’t think he meant you in particular. Others have mentioned non-cosmetic rewards
-
RE: Skeletons
Yep. I don't think it has to stop there either. I think it would be extremely neat if there were different effects like that on certain asteroids
It would make discovering and exploring different asteroids pretty interesting, that's for sure

RE: I Like Fish
By dangling carrots in front of the humans right? Or maybe we should be more realistic and use gold/rings/jewelry eh?

RE: G'Day
@dj35
You don't know that, he could be the master... Mr. Smith. Covert operative, assassin... we may never know. Until it's too late. -
RE: Will zergs rule the open world?
@Jetah
From what I could find, there was one other main thread created in August 2018. If this topic has been brought up a total of 2 times... I think we're good lolBesides, some new points were brought up here. If everything could ONLY be discussed once, things would not progress very much. The dynamic of the game changes over time, there's nothing wrong with bringing up a topic to re-iterate on it.
Just my 2c.
Now, if there's a thread on this topic from 2 weeks ago... maybe that would be a different story.
