Found the great Wall of fractured!
I personally don't see fractured similar to Diablo at all. Isn't Diablo a dungeon looter like borderlands?
I see OPs vision as possible.

Eh, I personally think efforts should be spent on other endeavors. Thinking otherwise just seems pretty selfish/I need to be special imho.
Looks like they are already thinking of other tiers though.
it cost an hour of time for 1 person to create a few ideas. then another 1/2 to 1 hour to decide if they're added in and where. then 2-5 hours to get some good concept art approved. i'd say at best 7-8 man hours for 5-20 rewards. now the art can be sub contracted (which happens regularly) so the loss is much lower than what i have provided.
and they can release tiers as they're finished or major content patches so they aren't all given at once.
And then you consider the hours and hours spent to implement the rewards. Even a simple cloak takes a long time to implement. Pets? Yikes.
And all of those hours are spent into some arbitrary exclusivity? What a waste of time.

If sustainable, I think fractured should explore that route as well. Obviously minus the claiming lands bit imho
There is no premium currently, so it stands to reason there would be no discount. I imagine there is already a bit of a pre-release discount on items.
The good thing about friendly fire would mean you can just kill them right back. I do not really see that as being an issue.
Not having friendly fire has always seemed artificial to me, makes no sense haha
Also, would the world end if you jotted notes down on a notebook? No minimizing, multi screen use or anything of the sorts
Sea combat is always a dream of mine in a game like this. And of course, best to get things done right than rush them.
Games naturally change during their development and release. I do not think albion became some drastically different game. Albion has good elements to draw from. Albion didn't have enough to hold me, but I did follow its development.
Fractured will likely change over time as well. Holding devs to every single promise and desire during development is extremely detrimental to the game in general. I'm sure I'm guilty of trying to do so haha
Honestly, even if B2P doesn't work out. I think it is better to start out small and work towards being able to support thousands upon thousands of players.
I'm still of the opinion that having artificial limits does nothing more than cause sister guilds and scheduling nightmares.
Yep, I asked for that ages ago as well. Not really sure why they are dragging their feet on it. Sure you miss out on a few degrees of movement, but you still get 8 right? But it opens up so many possibilities and increases your market/playerbase. Wins all around tbh
I personally want it so I do not have to use a silly toggle when I'm playing with a gamepad. Toggles are boring haha
I think more importantly it shows interest in the game. Investors always like validation
Not entirely sure, but the servers will not be up until the 4th for backers and the 6th for everybody.
So how do we get this game back on track with friendly fire? Seems extremely broken otherwise, and kind of weird that they changed stances.
It is something that really should have been part of an official post (and maybe it was, and I just missed it)... Not a comment on a forum post about an alpha video
You may want to contact support, I'm not entirely sure they are still actively looking out for KS surveys
Artificial limits are worthless anyways, it is not a big deal that it will not play a factor.
Thankfully friendly fire, over extending resources and so forth should hopefully be a thing? Cannot remember, but would be silly if not.
