Also, I don’t think it would be a good idea to buy in for the sake of playing.

RE: Will zergs rule the open world?
True, but the same idea can be used for non siege weaponry. We have received hints that there will be traps we can deploy, what with shadow demons having an affinity for traps. There could be traps that are well-tuned for clearing out hordes of players, but be near worthless against a single player. I'm not exactly sure what that would look like... but it's an idea to keep bouncing around in the devs minds during future balancing.

RE: Where is the news of the next test phase...
Mid October isn’t for like a week. And even then, I wouldn’t hold devs to a deadline posted out of good will on the forums.
Do you really want them to no longer give us estimates because they can’t trust us to be adults about it?
In any case the port has taken longer than they expected, it’s nearing completion and may even be done. There should be an update soon, just have to be patient

RE: Will zergs rule the open world?
I actually kind of disagree. If you’re engaging a Zerg with a Zerg, you’ll be in the same area as them. If you use one of those traps, you’re going to damage yourselves as well.
Now, can one Zerg lay a trap for the other? Of course, but so can the other Zerg. I think it can be balanced well. Would be hard to implement overall though.
Unfortunately zergs are an unfortunate reality in games like fractured. Even if anti-Zerg mechanics are implemented, they will find a way to thrive. There just has to be enough countermeasures to make it possible to be outside of a Zerg

I can hazad a guess you do not deal with customers/clients/consulting?
This was pretty tame all things considered lol

RE: Dang the roadmap gets me all giddy
Maybe, maybe not. Depends on how many meatshields you have. Set up strategically placed accounts that are spamming AoE abilities.
It’s like playing tower defense

RE: Where is the news of the next test phase...
Could not have said it better myself, I was shaking my head at more of the responses than the OP haha. As I'm sure people do to my posts all the time

RE: People who buy a founders pack today get more than yesterday
What I do wonder is... “why” is it worth killing that monster/boss with ranked up spells? Since mobs are clearly not the source of “high end” uber pwn weapons, what’s the point of killing them?
They’ve also stated no gear will be inherently rare right? So I can’t imagine a super hard boss would be the source of some crafting material
It’s probably already something I read and forgot. Too many projects vying for my attention haha

RE: VIP Discount working in store?
There is no premium currently, so it stands to reason there would be no discount. I imagine there is already a bit of a pre-release discount on items.

RE: People who buy a founders pack today get more than yesterday
I think you kind of missed my point, I probably put it poorly. I guess I’ve made an assumption that some bosses will be more difficult than others... and that’s even when you have gear catered towards them. If these bosses have drops similar to less difficult mobs, then the gear crafted from their resources will be intrinsically more rare than the gear crafted from the normal mobs.
However, they’ve said there will be no rare gear. So I don’t really see how they can have difficult bosses that drop resources for crafting new gear.

RE: People who buy a founders pack today get more than yesterday
I’m not too worried about that change. I’m of the opinion that if there is open PvP of any kind, elite players should not be able to curb stomp new bros. Whether there was a 3 tiered system or not, that should remain true. And I think the 3 tiered system goes against that belief personally. I’m sure there’s a way to implement it so the 3 tiers just adds variety, and not power... but isn’t that just what they’re doing with skills already? Why convolute it.
Also equating the two is a bit silly imho. One feature was more of a tweak (3 levels), while the other is a core fundamental of the game (horizontal progression).

RE: People who buy a founders pack today get more than yesterday
Not necessarily true in this case. As I mentioned, it’s more of a tweak than a game mechanic.
It’s like saying yes we want combat, combat is great. Okay. Now, do we want full loot combat... or more of a degradation on items... or no penalty altogether? They are tweaks of the system, and can be discussed before they’re implemented

RE: People who buy a founders pack today get more than yesterday
I think you’ll see I made sure not to mention power at all, but rarity.
If there are no rare gear drops, then there is no rare equipment. If those bosses do have rare components drop, then it goes against what was said. Which is okay, intents can change or become more fleshed out.
Right now we don’t have any bosses to see their true intent, so I suppose it’s a discussion for later.

RE: Fan Weapon Type
I’d rather they kept away from the anime tropes that are currently hitting the major MMOs. I’d much rather see more unique things from like the Persians or something haha
Wouldn’t be too angry either way, would just prefer something a little more refreshing

RE: Rhykker Mention of "Pay for Convenience"
I don't follow, unless we are making gross exaggerations. When a newbie can be just as viable in a PvP battle in comparison to a vet... That 10% extra knowledge points is not going to win a battle.
Battles will be won with tactics, numbers, and skill/timing of abilities. Not a 10% knowledge buff, which can be obtained without paying too
I swear these p2w arguments are like crying wolf where p2w is the wolf of course haha.

RE: Rhykker Mention of "Pay for Convenience"
So someone who has enough money to only work 30 hours a week (thus saving 10 hours to play) is pay to win because they have more time to gear up than another player.
Sorry, being cheeky... But we will just have to agree to strongly disagree. If fractured is pay to win under your stipulations, I am totally fine with it.
DS needs to keep the lights on, which cannot always be done with simple cosmetics
But wait, are cosmetics not pay to win as well? If you have to grind out coin to buy a cloak cosmetic, but someone can just buy it... They can clearly gain an advantage since they have time to gear
Sorry, still being cheeky lol
-
RE: Rhykker Mention of "Pay for Convenience"
Both are still convenience items though. Buy a frame, or grind for it.
Nowhere have I said either are pay to win. They just are not solely cosmetic operations
-
RE: Rhykker Mention of "Pay for Convenience"
I will accept that for the first round we had against eachother but then you directly quoted this:
"Not many MMOs can get by with just B2P and cosmetics. (I do not count BRs as MMOs)"
At which point you made a plug for AoC
-
RE: Rhykker Mention of "Pay for Convenience"
Seems like you are backpedalling.
At multiple points you directly quoted my comments about MMOs not being sustainable on cosmetics alone. Make up your mind please

RE: Is this game using these Unity Asset Store assets and why?
Using store assets to free up time for more important aspects of the game is a no brainer. Especially for indie studios.
