I'm gonna be a Robin Hood.
Steal from the rich and give to myself.

@grofire said in VIP system : What do you think ?:
I do not see the point of keeping debate on the matter, in the pre-Alfa/Alfa/beta we will see how it's effecting, and we will be able to say what we think, right now it's just a guessing game.
We can still have a guess-debate.
There is a difference between people who are genuinely stuck on something even after putting in the effort, and people who just click "next next next accept", enter the game, don't read anything written on their screen, even the stuff written in huge letters, and then just "spam ask" stupid questions that are obvious to anyone who even looks at their screen.
@Jetah yeah I meant in peace, although, now that you point it out, I kinda like my typo, lol.
@jetah said in How should shields work? WoW vs. Vermintide style:
already happens in D3 and PoE! I do like that D3 has a force move keybind so you can move without attacking, PoE still requires 1 ability slot for that =/
@gothix said in How should shields work? WoW vs. Vermintide style:
Remember, this is click to move, press skills game.
Implementing skilled shield blocking seems not an easy thing do do in this type of game where there is no keyboard movement.
Click to move plus active blocking plus targeting stuff on ground with your spells, sounds like major pain in the ass annoying thing to do, and not like something I would play.
one of the skill shots could be..... a block with a shield!
Yeah, but that's not what I have in mind under "skilled shield blocking".
"Skilled" would be something where you have to move your character and while rotating your cam with mouse rotate shield with it and visually keep positioning it towards direction of incoming attacks.
That kinda wouldn't work with this type of game (or it would work in rudimentary way, and just be annoying and not so fun, imho).
The Voyage Beyond
For a long time stories about Elysium, and its demise, were told. Lives continued on Arboreus, Tartaros and Syndesia, generations changed, time passed, and inhabitants of those worlds, sometimes in war, sometimes in peaces, found their purpose, made peace with their new reality, believing what they were told was true.
Who could have known... that gods kept a secret from their people.
Up there, beyond the dark nebula, shrouded by stardust, another world was hidden. A sister world that emerged together with three known worlds, but remained hidden, unseen.
The recent astronomical phenomenon uncovered the hidden planet, and all eyes are turned towards it now.
Who are the people living there? Are they friendly? Or are they a threat, perhaps even a bigger threat than already familiar enemies from known planets.
Not blocked by nebula anymore, new energy started emanating through the space from that world, and people have already found the way to tune the portals to the new destination.
Will you defend your world from the new posing thread? Will you be an adventurer embarking on a dangerous voyage to discovered secrets hidden by long isolated world. Or will you be a member of mysterious race living on this new world, ready to embrace whatever the new reality may throw at you?
In this expansion:
New planet: insert name
New race: insert name
PvP rules on this planet: strange astronomical shifts caused by recent nebula disturbances make a strange effect on both inhabitants of this world and incoming adventurers. As rays of nebula light shift conflict becomes almostz impossible at times due to heavy strain on players, anyone that initiates an attack in this period automatically gets debuffed for such action. But in other intervals of time, when shift occurs anyone initiating an attack gets a great boost in power.
At random intervals on this planet, PvP will be rare to to attackers being punished by debuff, but when shifts occur, all players will get their power boosted, and whoever strikes first gets an extra stat increase. No one knows when these shifts will occur. If you are not ready to fight, better run for safety of the settlement when the shift occurs and space around you is no longer safe. Or be ready to strike first to get the advantage.
TLDR: at some periods of time first initiator of PvP attack will be punished by debuiff, but at other intervals the first initiator of PvP attack will get extra boost. Shifts occur randomly, but once they occured they have minimum mantatory duration before next shift can happen.
Racials of the new race: characters of this new race are small creatures that move very quickly and adapt to their environment very well, using "cameleon like" feautures. They are able to mimic some nearby objects to temporarily hide from their enemies. During hiding they can not move, well.. they can, but a moving bush or a rock would hardly get by undetected. Players of this race also move a bit quicker while on their home planet, due to being used to their home environment for a long time.
New weapon types: there are some new unique resources that exist on this world, and will be used with new recipes to create a new weapon types for players to use. insert some new weapon types

Voted for Demon, but in all honestly I'm still not sure if I'll go as demon or as human. Humans will have some interesting tech giving an extra fun to your game play, and they will be able to control land on most visited planet (since everyone can travel to Syndesia without harsh limitation, that will, with no doubt, be the planet with most people roaming around the lands, which is great for PvP.
I actually find humans most appealing due to them being able to fight for control of a planet that will be mostly visited, most traffic as everyone can travel there without harsh limitations.
Also human tech seems very appealing, giving extras to your game play, both PvE and PvP.
I am PvP focused (so I find Tartaros very appealing due to unrestricted PvP rules), but due to those nice things that humans have, I am still not sure will I start as Demon or as Human.
How do we think we can spread positivity about the game? Leave answers below.
By not calling ourselves @Temp (short for temporary) spreading out the "feeling" that we will jump ships soon.
Not a bad idea.
I personally mostly liked the "optional subscription" system of original The Secret World (after Funcom abandoned the mandatory subscription, but before they implemented crap like gear chests and other combat boosts in shop).
__
Basically game was buy to play, and subscription was optional (so like VIP) and what you gained for subscription was:
People loved such optional subscription and so many had it, even though it was purely cosmetic, people loved the fact that they were getting UNIQUE cosmetics not available from regular cash shop, and they loved that their money was worth more (30% discount on cash purchases while subscribed).
I'd say not in so close future, because they are focused on finishing the original game right now.
However, down the line, why not? If interest will be large it's quite possible to create a new planet, and a new race living on it, perhaps with a bit different PvP rules too.
It's even possible to fit it in the lore. This planet existed ever since the other planets did (when they were all created after the event), however due to some astronomical phenomenon it was not visible from other 3 planets and no one knew it existed. A mysterious race was living in isolation on it, holding secret knowledge not known to other races on other planets.
This would be quite a nice way to implement an expansion.
There is only one way for monopoly to happen.
If there will be some unique resource that exists only in restricted part of Arboreus. That would allow players that can roam around there have monopoly over all others that can't.
We don't know yet precisely if there will be such resource or no. We are only assuming that all Arboreus resources will be spread around evenly on restricted and non restricted part. However, that may not show to be the case.
What others haven't specified about participating:
If I understood correctly the question was what will be more expensive:
Imho, you need to remember that "shortcut" you are talking about still requires you to actually travel to Tartaros, so that's an extra stargate you have to build.
Imo, stargate from one world will cost equal amount of currency (effort), regardless of where you want to travel to.
So if you are on Syndesia and you want to go somewhere, you will equally pay to construct (use) the door either to Arboreus or to Tartaros. Same goes for other worlds.
So there will be no "shortcuts".
I'd write it more precisely and I wouldn't say "You can trade with everyone YOU want".
I'd write "You can trade with everyone who wants to trade with you".
This is sandbox, and most will depend on people, alliances will also not depend on alignment. Good aligned guild and evil aligned guild can very well work together against a third guild which will be their common enemy if they want to.
So while some restrictions are made by game, most restrictions are made by people.
What Nelch said, but yes, eventually you can both play together on same planet.
But keep in mind the path to allignment change for demons is long, demon will not become an angel quickly.
