    • RE: Economy Balance

Game shouldn't be designed around spending cash to progress, but it would also be nice if it placed a reasonable cap on how much you can accomplish by being online per day/week, so it does not promote no life 24 hours per day gaming.

      So:

      • no P2W
      • no NoLife2win as well

It would be nice if game was designed around progression by gameplay, but with some kind of a reasonable daily/weekly CAP placed on progression.

    • RE: VIP / Shop and my random thoughts

Yes.. we do not want cosmetics at ridiculous price. But we do want cosmetics at a decent price, and we will buy them.
We don't want high one time fee. We want decent one time fee, and we will pay it.
We don't want P2W from money shop. We want small convenience from money shop and we will pay it.

All that will pay developers, and make the game go.

Ashes of Creation is doing poorly because they changed their game design from originally promoted one, not because they hyped it too early.

Demon PvP (although it will certainly have GvG aspect as well) will be more focused on FFA PvP.

Human PvP (although it will have FFA as well) will be more focused on GvG aspects (due to mechanics of zone control and setting the rules when you control those zones).

So, I don't think that demon and human will have different quantity of PvP, I just think that the nature and type of PvP that will be more present there will be different. On Syndesia you will see organized groups fighting more often, while on Tartaros you will see skirmish more often.

    • RE: New Race Idea

Hmmm.... what if portal travel wasn't instant, but instead (sometimes in the future) it's changed that portal takes you to some dangerous mid-realm, and once you are inside through the first doorway (portal), you have to find another doorway to actually reach your destination.

And the travel through this mid-realm, until you find second doorway wouldn't be free of dangers.

This mid-realm transport could occur when some form of magic interfering asteroid is nearby, and instead of directly to your destination, portal sends you to that asteroid, and another doorway to your end destination is positioned somewhere there as well.

This occurrences could start occasionally over time, happening only sometimes, and down the line in future (with expansion), a huge asteroid could position in the system permanently, featuring a permanent barrier that prevents instant travel, and this asteroid could be large enough to also feature brand new race that lives there.

    • RE: What’s the point?

Sandbox games offer "less" at the launch (just until community gets the ropes of the game and picks up), but last longer, and offer much more at middle and later stages of game play, where theme park games "loose the juice" and everything becomes old, unlike sandbox games who start to thrive as game grows older.

    • RE: Scroll of teleportation πŸŒ€β³

To use the scroll you must have an empty bag,

If your bag is not empty, upon using the scroll, all your belongings (resources from bag, not gear you are actually wearing) will drop on a ground before you are teleported.

In this way people can not keep scrolls until they are attacked in PvP, and use them when in danger to escape.
There is also long cast time to use the scroll, that can be interrupted if you receive damage.

Yeah, I don't like "toon being always online" as well.

It creates unnecessary extra stress on the server, and makes you unable to protect your toon while you aren't online.

@DCCCXIX said in The End of most Sandbox PVP Games-The losing side.:

those should be limited so small and big guilds get about the same amount.

      No they shouldn't.

You are free to grow your guild in size if you want stuff. And if you chose to play in small guild then you should accept the drawbacks that come with it.

Also larger guild must split those resources among larger number of members, so it would be completely illogical for small and large guilds to get the same amount....

Must have an ability to set enemy town banners on fire (outside of sieges as well). If you manage to slip by guards undetected (which should be hard).

For example, if you use one material rather than another, you could create an armor with more slots for enchantments or with different statistics.

      That sounds good.

I hope this knowledge will be hidden on start so players will have to invest a decent time exploring, experimenting and finding out stuff. πŸ™‚

I know eventually web will be full of info, but at least starting period would be extra interesting, and perhaps expansions could shift some stuff around so players have to explore again.

Also by just a short check on @PeachMcD digital footprint, I can see its not only about gender names. She is a general activist (also quite religious), goes on various campaigns, marches etc.

In other words, she tries to push to change many things in broader spectrum of fields (weather it's more or less fitting to do so in a particular field). πŸ˜‰

    • RE: Real Crafting

      I favor order over chaos.

Granted, this order needs to be just, and rules need to be set so that they are based on logic.
I hate rules that are skewed in such way to force the balance among the players.

I also hate RNG from the depths of my soul. RNG makes it impossible for you to progress and get better, because no matter what you do, RNG is RNG.

So i prefer game without any amount of RNG.

A game should have complex rules that aren't obvious at start, and require you to invest your time, and use your brain in order to understand them. Gaining the understanding of all the rules shouldn't be an easy task, it should require significant effort, and i can't stress this enough, RNG shouldn't be included there in any amount whatsoever.

      @Tuoni said in Real Crafting:

It is also important to take account that RNG will eventually turn almost (with some tolerance ofc) to static number when sampling is high enough. So in short run anything can happen, but with long run the numbers will settle close to average.

Actually no... that's the point of RNG, it is always RNG, and there is an actual RNG chance that some player will always have good results, while other player will always have bad results (or most of the time).

This is what I hate about RNG. Specific players benefiting only on luck, while others having poor results most of the time.

I much prefer when player effort (and brain) are the sole factors in players success rate.
