RE: Kickstarter Is Over! What's Next?
@logain That was probably a best case scenario. Give 'em a little bit longer. Betting there is a lot to do when it comes to those sorts of things.

RE: Biomes, Terrain & Climate
@therippyone I believe they already mentioned gear being needed for certain areas. Depending on the climate and all that. so I wouldn't be too shocked if food requirements change for those areas as well?

RE: RP Servers
At the very least I'm betting there will be other players looking to stay in character. There's been a few discussions from like-minded people already even.

RE: what do you like to see next from the developers?
@specter I don't know. The way it has been repeatedly stated comes across as misleading. Clarification was hard to find to top it all off. That's really not a good way to be doing things, nor is the cavalier attitude towards it. I brought it up with someone (letting them read through it) and their first thoughts on it were "deceitful marketing tactic".
Please, please, please be more clear in the future.

RE: what do you like to see next from the developers?
@specter Soooo that changed then at some point it looks like? Because I (and seemingly others) were under the impression that it would be a limited thing for the Kickstarter campaign. It's confusing to say the least. You state it isn't exclusive to it. Then your very next remark could be taken either way. That's a bit frustrating because I backed at the level I did both to support the game, and receive that unique reward. Which doesn't appear to be true anymore. You guys really gotta be more upfront about this kinda thing.
Then again it happens. Can't always catch every last possible detail all the time. Not something one can physically do. So. Eh. Is what it is. Appreciate the response regardless!

@specter said in What do Carpenters do and VIP?:
Buildings require maintenance. Your own house, farm or other constructions will decay over time and eventually collapse if not maintained. The Carpenter NPC takes care of the issue for you.
Lifetime VIP can be obtained through crowdfunding only. First through the Kickstarter, and later through the website.
Last I was updated, lifetime VIP will not be available after Kickstarter. Immortal tier is Kickstarter-only.

RE: Massive battles: will "big numbers" always win?
They already said friendly fire will be in the game. That alone will have a pretty big effect on a zergs ability to function in a fight. I'm not overly concerned about it myself given that feature.

RE: what do you like to see next from the developers?
@ladyrowan Store would also be nice for those of whom want to upgrade to a higher tier down the line.
It is worth noting that they said if you didn't get lifetime VIP already you won't be able to. They were marketing that as a Kickstarter exclusive.

RE: Why Magic users will be OP compared to physical users
I'm not convinced this will be an issue at all. From the looks of spotlight #5 every stat is going to have some sort of impact regardless of spec. Save for the very last one having some seemingly specific focuses intended for it.
So if you ask me from the very start the idea that mages will be better because they only need certain stats is out the window. They are losing out in other areas if they choose to focus solely on one stat. Not to mention that we don't even know if accuracy will be something spells need too. If it is then there's even more pressure on casters to be diversified in stats. Hell, what if certain spells require different types of stats to even be used? There's also a chance some could scale off different types of criteria to that of others.
I don't believe this will be an issue. I really don't see it at the moment. Unless spells are incredibly simple and have very little depth to them.. which I kinda hope isn't the case.

RE: NO tank mages
@dybuk Kinda like that a lot more then temporary effects. Since it sounds like it could add another small segment to the games economy. Can't argue with that.

RE: Virtual Ecology in the past
Have to say that was surprisingly interesting to watch. There's probably something they could learn from that it seems like.

RE: GamesCom Here I Come! And You?
Got my hopes up for another sneak peek when I saw the title. But getting the chance to meet the man behind the game is pretty damn good too.

RE: Whats your favorite character Class to play on your first Character
Definitely something buff/debuff heavy if that is possible. More of a "true" support, and not simply a healer with a fancier name.

RE: A Point of Concern: "Horizontal Progression"
A lack of constant grinding for better stats doesn't preclude progression. An emphasis on horizontal progression typically involves hunting for rare or tough to find alternatives. Variants that while not better stat wise, unlock new ways of playing. Plus rare things in general can just be fun to aim for.
In games like GW2 you hit a stat well pretty quickly yet they've had a ton of people playing for years and years now. Have a look at how they approach expansions to get a feel for how one of those systems can work out. Of course that game does have vertical progression early game, more than Fractured will.. but you can still hit the cap very fast and those goal posts don't get moved. So it does act as a solid example regardless.

RE: [Discussion] Ingame currency system, what we want to get?
@fibs I don't know. The Path of Exile setup seems to work better then regular gold. Which is subject to extreme inflation the longer a title is around.
Not saying it is perfect or the best choice. I just don't want a standard currency if they can avoid it, maybe.

RE: Anything similar to this?
Hack & slash MMO-lite games might fit the bill decently-ish. Such as Path of Exile, or Diablo 3.
Alternatively you could try Albion Online. However the monetization is considered heavy-handed and I've seen some complaints about how certain gameplay aspects are handled. That said it looks fun regardless.
I'm really having a hard time coming up with games to fill that void. Maybe a MOBA? Maybe a standard old hack & slash singleplayer game like Titan Quest?

RE: The arrival of KS boyss!
@00 Was thinking the same!
Although after a certain point the rewards would have to slow down or stop. Can't have them adding too much bloat just because and all that.

RE: FibS's big dumb semi-curated NOT official "I want this kind of Beastman!" topic
Eh, I'm bored. None of this will probably make sense. I didn't put a whole lot of sense into it. Just felt like taking part in the fun for the sake of it. Might try to refine it later perhaps.

Passive healing over time
-
Lesser ability with healing spells/abilities
Unsure of any of these:
-
Special ability to attack with tail, causing some sort of disorienting effect with low to moderate damage
-
Excel at blending into certain areas, making them tougher to spot
Maybe something that'd make them more attuned for solo/small group play but offer very little to larger teams?

RE: NO tank mages
Can you give any particular reason why they shouldn't allow mages to be tanks?
If you ask me a wide variety of spells permitting one to customize their build how they please is good. Adds diversity, more options for roleplaying, easier to find a build to match your own tastes, etc.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't even think of a reason why mages shouldn't be tanks. What is to stop a caster of any variety from using their spells to defend themselves or others?
