RE: when does we choose our reserve unique character name?
Considering everything is supposed to be wiped through alpha and I think even beta I'd expect not until the full release and that date isn't in stone.

RE: Are Placing Multiple Sieges against Multiple Cities Possible..?
I believe city mechanics will change once the servers go live. I bet they will actually be ever changing as servers grow and wane. It is hard to put mechanics into place with thoughts of how it will work because you know what is said of a good battle plan

Alot of Hello threads
Advertising must have hit somewhere. It seems like it goes in waves by countries for new accounts lol.

RE: Other types of "consumables"?
@Nag Not sure the level we are talking about. I think people still have a problem wrapping their minds around the fact a new character is as powerful as a character that has been around awhile.

RE: Other types of "consumables"?
I wouldn't mind seeing consumables that counteract ongoing effects. Consumables are always great for crafters as well

RE: 400k funding !!
I've done alot of Kickstarters the past few years and I have never really understood how some take off and some don't. I've backed some third party D&D books and some of them jump to well over a million or even two. Maybe more people are just less likely to back computer games since you don't have something tangible in your hands.

RE: Anoter great MMORPG called Haven and Hearth
Whoa those are some old graphics lol.

RE: *Kenobi voice* Hello There!
@LonelyCookie Some of our community players gave Chronicles a try. I refused to play since it was definitely pay to win. I wondered how it faired.

RE: Bummer for me: "Hello Governor! A few city-claiming tips for you..."
In UO we would put out hunting lodges for the guild to use near good spawns. Here though that won't be an easily achieved option since an account can have only one house per planet.

RE: Bummer for me: "Hello Governor! A few city-claiming tips for you..."
So the basic idea I'm getting is live in a city lol.

RE: City Claiming Has Launched
@Specter Ah Ok I was confused when this was posted by Prometheus
There is no fixed number of slots, the amount of citizens a town can have depends on the number of personal land parcels you have placed in it. A 2x2 parcel raises the cap by 2 citizens, a 3x3 by 3, a 4x4 by 4.
Do we know the limits?
-
RE: City Claiming Has Launched
If there is no limit of players that can live in a city does this mean that the city limits expand as more players join opening up more placing options? Otherwise the city is limited by the city limits if they are finite. If the city limits expand by the amount of players that live in it does this mean that a city can effectively grow continuously?

RE: How Would A Demon Gain Karma?
When transforming from one type to another do you lose all characteristics of that type when you transfer? So saying you are a demon with certain skill/stat traits when you become transformed do you gain the new traits?

RE: Info on Changes to Guild Cities
Hopefully the time a ruler is inactive to the point you can replace them isn't too long. I realize people need time to have off in the real world. It would also be nice to be able appoint a temporary leader in the case of someone having to go inactive for an extended period of time. If no one is in charge the time period shouldn't be more than a week or two from last login. Someone just deciding to quit or worse yet rage quit and then systematically trying to destroy everything before they leave can be a problem as well. Players dedicated to a city need some controls in place to stop a tyrant

RE: Info on Changes to Guild Cities
Honestly from my experiences in SWG a city inhabited by one guild is hard to maintain. We had our own city and our guild went through a schism with it splitting into 2 groups. It left the city in shambles.
Likewise there needs to be an easy way to transition a city from the existing governor to a new one in case they quit the game. In fact, there needs to be login requirements for a governor. In SWG we lost several of our buildings because we had no one in charge to pay the taxes and allocate funds where they needed to be. It was a mess all because one person decided they didn't want to run the city any more.
We ended up with control later and got things back on track. We invited other guilds to join the city and before we finally quit we had 8 fairly large guilds in the city and it made us the largest on our planet.

RE: City Claiming Has Launched
I'm interested in hearing from players about city building, upkeep and management. What kinds of buildings and npcs are available to a city player manager? Details when you guys start doing this stuff

RE: Myr Cities & Hotspots Map
@Dordolio I'd say location is very important. From what I gather (no pun intended lol) the resources located near you are what might attract some players.

RE: Town claiming is closed in preparation for the fall alpha.
It's so cool having access to the world map

RE: Former GoTA player checking things out
I'm guessing Game of Thrones Ascent. I think PeachMcD said at one time she was from there.
