@Meiki I see your point where you phrase it like that. Not that like I would know anything about embracing anyone...

RE: New To Fractured
Hi!
It's good to see a well-informed newcomer.
Seeing how you have a Kirby avatar, I'm afraid to disappoint you by telling you cannibalism is not a planned feature.

@Meiki Who wouldn't choose that
Presumably people who hate beer gut with passion. Like me. I have wide preferences, but belly fat is The Dreaded ArchEnemy and I will never accept it in any way, shape or form.
Well, maybe, if it's rather small and soft andAnd I will never accept it.
The more I think about it, the more cute edge cases I start to find.NEEEEVEEEERRRRRrrrRrrRRRr.Though, I'm seriously considering maining a female character for once, since this looks like an MMO without face-palmingly silly, embarassing female armours for a change.

RE: Hello!
Hi!
You're posting a lot! It's good to see someone so full of energy just taking a head-long dive into the forums. Hopefully when Alpha 1 (which, unlike pre-Alpha, won't have an NDA) launches we'll have more to talk about. ^_^

RE: When will the game come out to public?
@MrWoof said in When will the game come out to public?:
@Pluto Yeah that's fair, but at least I'll be able to afford it in 2 years, maybe even an year.
Ahhh, budget issues. So, so relatable.

RE: The Wait
@Specter Wow, you're doing a great job, having that info handy. Thank you.

RE: The Wait
Hm... Now that you speak of it, I realised I don't remember whether Dynamight have announced a new Alpha 1 start date or not.
Sometimes, my mind doesn't work well with schedules.

RE: Greetings today
That's an odd way to introduce yourself, but hi! Nice to see a new face around here.
Your profile picture seems oddly familiar, but I can't quite remember what it's supposed to be.

RE: [Community Talk] What makes you quiet?
In my case:
- I got sick and couldn't use computer for about a week,
- my job is getting a bit hectic at the moment so when I come back, I'm usually tired, and tired + Asperger's = no words.

Axiom Vierge is free on Epic Games
Oh, goodie, I was hoping to get into some Metroidvania, but Aquaria required too much dexterity and reflex from me, and UnEpic turned out to be very boring to play (which is a shame, since it was so well written).

@Gingershadow welcome!
"Fractured Space" is a bit different from "Fractured", since one is a team space combat game (Fractured Space) and one (Fractured) will be a mmorpgI missed the word "space" when I first read OP's post, and was really confused until I read your comment.
@Gingershadow said in what is fractured:
Fractured Space is an award winning team game. You can choose to play alone with a team of bots to help you, with other players against a team of AI, or in full PvP.
Hm... I'm assuming you're giving an example of how you want the game pitched to you? Let me give it a try.
Fracture is an upcoming MMORPG. There's very little power progression, you unlock new abilities by earning achievements, and each gameplay type - PvE, PvP, mixed - has its own race and area.

which means 200-300 creatures per km2.
As a prospective monster hunter, I am quite happy with that number.
How long did it take to generate the map and all of the above? About 5 hours on a laptop with 16gb of RAM and an Intel i7-7700HQ CPU. Certainty one of our artists' PCs with a ton of CPU cores and more RAM would have done better, but so it went this time.
Wow, that's pretty fast indeed.

It was originally meant to feature only race selection (male/female for humans) and a couple basic options. Instead, you'll be able to select different faces, haircuts, facial hair, skin tones, eye colors, etc for humans, and equivalents for other races.
There have been some discussions about what advanced character creation meant, so I'm glad it is finally cleared up.

RE: Skeletons
@Thwunk Ha, I see there will are skeletons planned for Alpha now, albeit NPC: the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
And the skeleton of a hundred bones begins with a single ossible.

RE: State Of The Game #2 β On 2018, Alpha 1 & Unity
There's a typo in the article: one of the monsters you mention is a "warewolf".
Unless that monster is a canine peddler of illicit software, or a particularly excited sales-doggo, I think it should be spelled "werewolf".

1313β¬ to have Enhanced Creation !
Newcomers have faith in Fractured !Do we actually know anything about how it will be enhanced compared to the no-stretch version?
Is it more like going from 5 horn styles to 17 horn styles, or like going from pre-determined faces to sliders, or going from "every toon in a single race has the exact same height" to several body types...?

RE: Crafted Items / Unidentified Items
There's a conflict of tones in your post.
Considering how every single piece of gear in the game will supposedly be crafted by a player, I feel displaying the creator's name on items wouldn't make them feel more special.
It would be a reminder that the whole economy is driven by players, sure, it would perhaps make one feel more connected to the game, yes, but it wouldn't be a mark of distinction.Your other proposal - naming significant entities after their discoverers/retrievers - would give a lot of distinction to the select few of early adopters and make them seem special.
It just feels weird to see these two things in the same post.

RE: Unity has blocked SpatialOS - What's up and what it means for us
@jahlon said in Unity has blocked SpatialOS - What's up and what it means for us:
Honestly, after researching this, this story is mind-blowing.
Its like Unity just wants to go out of business or something.
Is this a case of a so-far competent company starting suddenly making horrible business decision (like, say, after a hostile takeover), or just a video game-related company making blunt-headed - but not fatal - decisions (like, say, EA during the last two decades or so).
-
RE: Since discord is currently dead...
Wait, what? Not only SpatialOS, but they're taking down Discord too?
...
...oh, it was just an outage and has been already resolved.
