Runescape has a great lending system that I can see being pretty useful, letting a guildmate use a precious item for up to 72 hours (or until logout) was also a nice income for those who owned even rarer items. Since getting scammed in any game sucks it is even worse when it's during one of these "trust lends" where a friend lets another friend use their expensive item. I don't know how expensive the rarest items in Fractured are going to be, but after the time limit is up the lent item could return to the owner's chest in their home. I could see this being abused though and having parties lend each other armor sets/weapons before attempting any encounters where they may die, so that all their gear spawns back in one of the other member's chests if they do. There could be a daily limit on lending like 3 or so, or maybe once an hour.

Around the same time I played runescape I also played Adventure Quest Worlds, as of now it's pretty much Chinese MMO tier in terms of being money hungry. But all the items in game came from many different artists all with their own themes/artstyles. This caused a large following in game for two of the main artists, one with a fiendish demonic theme with Miltonius, whose items were really grindy and questlines were all over the place, the second artist had an edgy undead theme with Dage, the Evil, his items were easier but he made a lot more of them. The game developed around these two artists storywise since 2013. The game is still milking these two today, with their art going rare after a few weeks, forcing the whales to continue playing and continue paying for the items.

I'm real excited for Fractured though since the amount of skills it has reminds me of AQW, which also has character customization not locked behind classes. There are 100+ acquirable classes that can just be equipped whenever, so that's hundreds of different skills compared to when it first came out and had just 4 classes and 20 skills. What I'm happy to see in Fractured is that it's already starting with way more skills, and having the option available to mix and match these skills into loadouts, which can be considered classes on their own. What I'm seeing is three of my favorite games mixed together with Path of Exile's friendly monetization, Adventure Quest World's variety of skills, and the survival/strategy elements of Don't Starve all with a topdown isometric view. Poe will never have the horizontal progression and mmo feel that Fractured can, Don't Starve is more of a singleplayer thing, and AQW is dead, so hopefully everything goes smoothly for DS making this. Scratching all four of those itches in one game is not going to come around anytime soon outside of Fractured hahaha

    • RE: Extra races on Syndesia

@PeachMcD said in Extra races on Syndesia:

I wasn't gonna bring this up while the game is still so in process, but as long as someone else did... the available skin tones and hair textures for our alpha pcs are pretty darn limited.

Looks like we just gotta wait until they start working on the enhanced character customization for the deeper stuff like eye size/textured hair/height/weight. (I'd like to make chubbier/scrawny weak looking characters instead of being locked to buff 6pack bros after doing so in every game ever)

I don't know what happened to make it to where all the skin colors right now are just 3 different shades of tan

Hopefully for Beta or this next test coming up they can at least match the colors and add a fully black hair (color). It'd do a lot for the customization, and I'm not really excited to just make different looking white people for another year or more until full release. A basic curly hair/afro for female/male would be great to match as well. As well as a bob for both

I've got an afro if I grow it out, and I'm sure those with asian hair would be happy even with a bob in game, way better than being limited to three, even for an alpha/beta. But I'd say these two hairstyles should be the first new ones implemented out of any other hair style for when they do decide to add more customization.

The Nordic housing pack shows there is a Nordic theme going on for the humans, can't see any reason to stick to Nordic themes any deeper than that customization-wise. Not trying to make it about race but you know just adding asian and black hair after matching skin colors to what's shown as options hahahaha.

    • RE: Non Game Breaking Ideas For the Competitive Amongst Us

@Farlander said in Non Game Breaking Ideas For the Competitive Amongst Us:

A cosmetic reward that I've seen in some games are special titles. Kill the most orcs and become the Orc Bane.

Yea I'd like titles too, since there are already a bunch just from the Foundation it'd be fun to see more options from the game and its planets. I can't think of any game right now with custom title names except Animal Jam, yea it's just a little dress up game but I'd like their nametag customization options in a non p2w way (unlike animal jam) 04093efa-9626-4849-9be5-c2904d57d9d8-image.png

It wouldn't be as cartoony of course but you know just like a little design. Maybe the guild leader could pick one title like that Orc Bane and then select it as the nameplate for everyone else in the guild. As well as a name color change in global chat to match the guild.

It'd easily identify other guild members if the guild color also changed the name color in global chat, and only change it for others in the guild, like runescape how it was purple dots on the minimap for guildmates, everyone else in chat would be white while guildies could be the guild's chosen color.

I don't see name plates being too great of a reward for competition but it doesn't break game and could give guilds something to "brag about". There's also the PoE racing rewards how it was just alternate art items in game for the top ranks, the rewards were never game breaking items either, just alternate arts for regularly attainable items in game.

    • Extra races on Syndesia

Re: 💡 Suggestion | Extra Races?

Goblins and elves? I don't know about elves but I like the idea of playing on the Human world as the other 2 planet's ideas and how they're pretty much Good/Evil, I'd like to play evil like the demons but don't feel I could thrive in a PVP focused world. Goblins are already on Syndesia so it'd be neat to play as one on a safe middle world like the human one, about the elves I haven't seen any in game yet, but they could be the opposite of goblins like they are visually.

Savage and ugly goblins sharing a world with ordinary humans and elegant and magical elves, goblins could be blessed in Dexterity and Perception (evade/observation) and be naturally weak in intelligence and constitution, while the elves are talented in their Intelligence and Charisma (magic/mental) and weak in strength and constitution. Something like a little rock/paper/scissors advantage over each other. There could also be lesser debuffs while on the other planets. Goblins with lesser debuffs on the demon world while having a more potent disadvantage on the Beastman world, but not as much as a regular demon. Same with elves but with a reverse of the goblin's situation. This would also not hinder trading between races on Syndesia as since they have easier and harder times in the two other planets there would be incentive to sell/buy each other's goods.

It'd give the "three races" of Syndesia a pretty neat dynamic. A fun, a healthy trade relationship between the three while out in the pvp areas there would be an irrational/entertaining distaste for one other. I'd imagine a party of goblins stumbling upon a couple elves would not simply let them go, even with their weakness to magic. The elves' confidence in their magic would also deter them from running away from some measly goblins compared to running into a bunch of humans.

Some people would also love to play as the other races but are turned off by their planet systems. Humans still being in the middle can enjoy all three worlds as they like and are free to create their builds, some people also hate playing as other races and would simply still choose humans, fights against the goblins/elves would be like fighting a human running a rogue/mage build only with lower constitution. They also get balanced curses for being on each planet.

Choosing either Goblin/Elf would simply change starting area on Syndesia and sacrifice constitution and Intelligence/Strength for stronger Dexterity/Intelligence and Perception/Charisma (left goblin/right elf) as well as -lessen/+increase the potency of curses for being on the Demon and Beastmen planets.
(Goblins: -demon, +beastmen) (Elves: -beastmen, +demon)
Just not as much as the negative effects of a demon being on the beastmen world and the opposite for elves. (half maybe)

I mainly came up with this after playing Realms of Magic, it's like Terraria but you can choose from many races and they give fitting racial talents. I played goblin and fell in love with them aesthetic-wise. In role playing games I've never liked playing as a human but on Syndesia that's all there is besides being able to be a lich. Syndesia appears to be the most dynamic planet so even more variables would be crazy fun.

What do y'all think? I really liked the lich idea as playing a non human and just really wanna see more races in Syndesia. If nothing else just goblin and elves as options in the character creation as a purely cosmetic change, or even as mtx. Anyways, it would be another great layer of depth as I imagine the game with this system years after it releases, guilds of demons, beastmen, humans, elves, and goblins. The goblins gotta stay ugly tho, not a human sized handsome variant with just green skin, pointy ears and fangs like skyrim's orcs. Would make good microtransactions though, goblin/elf/dwarf maybe idk about the size aspects and armor. Just all the fantasy humanoids outside of being completely demon/beast.

    • Join the Circus

Sup I'm Alien and I just wanted lifetime VIP but it came wit a reserved guild name so if you want to have "Circus" by your name then feel free to join, I snagged the guild tag「icup」as well so that's pretty cool.

As of right now I'm aiming for a casual guild for demons/abominations, we'll probably be pretty weak so I'd guess that our main prey would be the other casuals on Syndesia.
