Yes you will need to buy the game, but then you can play without paying anything. There will be an itemshop, but there will be just cosmetics. And there will be a VIP too. You can all read about it in the FAQ's and News, there are a quite few out there with interesting informations.

Not free to play but buy to play. Also i think it's also not a pay2win game which is very good (there is however cashshop item but cosmetics)

@Bezourator if you pledge at the basic level here for 20€ you will have access to the game from beta II and with some bonus ^^

@Kralith I think they've also mentioned convenience items... which is a slippery slope. But I trust them to not overdo it.
