Ok, so correct me if I'm wrong but the idea of items only existing if someone has crafted them feels very much like Albion Online which I played a lot of on release.
Is it the same idea?
No loot dropping off creatures, and items only becoming available as players create them?
Awesome way for a Sandbox to start out, as someone who loves gathering I'm looking forward to finding out about the resources we'll have access to - any news on those?
I would assume basic: wood, stone, metal
And would certain races have different gathering/crafting advantages?
i'm pretty sure that's what the spotlights and news state.
@Mimi There hasn't been a spotlight on the crafting/gathering mechanics yet. There has been some statements and interpretation/speculation on what the statements mean. I'm also waiting to see what the spotlight will show for the crafting side.
I'll keep an eye out for it!
@mimi Practically all items will be crafted. You will have access to various resources like wood, metals, minerals, etc. Each race (and family) has its own unique bonuses that go well beyond attribute-related ones - and they include crafting and gathering too.
