Neutral alignment needs a change

Legends are designed to be PvP hotspots. That's the whole reason why you need to flag neutral to do them.
The problem right now is that the current behaviour makes it such that there is no difference doing legends neutral or blue, because you can find almost no pvp at all doing legends, which should not be the case.
Not sure why you guys keep mentioning legends as "ganking" hotspots, it's not a ganking hotspot, if you mean a hotspot for gankers to camp, they can already do that now regardless of announcement of summons.
The announcement also makes it so that the people who announce have the upper hand - they are the first one there, they can setup the traps/counter gank more effectively than the people who come after.

@Rife Legens are not meant to be PvP hotspots, that's the thing. You have to flag Neutral there because it is something to promote Neutral players...it is possible that some will be camped as PvP hotspots, making when you summon a Legend be a more strategic thing, but every Legend should not devolve into a PvP hotspot scenario. PvEers should have a chance to take on Legends without getting PvP interruptions...either the PvPers have to waste time camping the altars in hopes of catching the Legend Hunters unawares, or the PvEers can take them on. By making Legends PvP Hotspots only, you are making it so straight PvE players feel excluded from Legendary Raid content...something we've said in multiple threads, should not happen.
A PvP zone could be established, and there might even be a couple of Legendaries that have Altars in said zone, but otherwise, PvP in Legendary encounters should be something diligent PvEers can avoid, so it should not be announced. Yes, we could set up the area, but there really isn't much right now that we can do to set up an area...we just don't have the abilities as yet to set traps and such for PvPers who might interrupt our Legend Raid. Maybe once we have that, it will be different, if that is even something planned, but until then, us PvEers who want to be cautious but still do Legends should have that opportunity as well on Syndesia.
-
@Rife I did not say Legends are ganking hotspots at the moment but those will be if the summoning will be informed before the fight starts like suggested in this thread earlier. It is pointless to examine current situation because there is not enough testers which obviously leads to less PvP as well.
I think that Legends have designed in mind that PvP will happen sometimes and that there is always this possibility face other neutrals (or evil). When a continent actually has a target number of players and we are moving direction of end-game then paths of neutral groups will cross much often.
I am sure that many good players do not like the current Legend situation (because forced neutral flagging) but this might be still the best middle-road solution.

I totally disagree. You do not need to do Legend content in order to any of your PvE activities. Legends should offer PvPvE content where you have a mix of both worlds. Right now, PvP does not even exists due to low player numbers(this is another issue itself), poor announcement timing, and it basically is not worth doing at the moment(cost of some reagents).
PvEers should have a chance to take on Legends without getting PvP interruptions...
At this point, I would like to say that PvE community is the greedy one. Up until now, "Red" players or players who wanted more PvP were shunned and told that they should go to Tartaros to do what they want. But here, what we see is that, even though PvE community is going to have the largest planet(Arboreus) and its unique PvE content, they still want to apply the same rules to Syndesia. If people want to do PvE activities without any interruption or whatsoever, they can play in Arboreus. If people want to stay in Syndesia and want to do similar activities, now they should be subject to the ruleset in Syndesia, which is a mixture of PvP and PvE.
-
Tartaros is a dedicated PVP world, everyone knows that, Arboreus is PVE, so players starting in those worlds will be primarily doing whichever the world they chose is specialised for.
So, Syndesia, being a world that allows both, needs to allow both, but not only that, to encourage both. PvE still exists in Tartaros, and PVP in Arboreus, so simply allowing both isn't enough.
Even having neutral, good and evil 'regions' (which are likely to develop, and usually seem to in the tests) isn't the final solution. Evil regions wont be entirely PvPers, or vice-versa, so, while there will be a natural progression towards various factions and alliances and so on; who is at war with who and who is neutral, who are to be attacked and who not etc. Including more systems and mechanics to facilitate communication between players and factions would allow the players to work things out as they go, instead of everyone trying to settle on mechanics that everyone agrees with.
P.S.
How will demon/wildkin travel and stay on syndesia work? is it still time limited? or can they remain there indefinately? and is duration of stay on Arboreus/Tartaros determined by race or alignment?I ask because many players will want to explore other worlds as the 'wrong' race, and I'm sure this has already been settled, but I can't quite remember and race should certainly be, if not separate from alignment, at least separate-able.

@Mirgannel12 Wildfolk can walk on Syndesia freely but Demons just for a while. However, eclipse event makes demon invasion easier to Syndesia. Traveling between planets utilizes stargates which might be a group effort to get working.

@Tuoni Ok, Thats what I thought, but I really hope that the Angels and Abominations are categorised as wildfolk and demons respectively in regards to planetary freedoms and restrictions
-
@Mirgannel12 I am sure that abomination counts as a demon and angel as a wildfolk. Are we going to see those before launch, not sure, but lich (as kickstarter reward) has said to come after release so... Well this goes off topic already so perhaps I won't ponder this any further.

i do not agree with your point, for the simple fact that PvE players do not "disturb" PvPers, while the opposite is not true. In other words i think that "forced" PvP should be limited to very very very specific situations (a siege, for example, or a guild war).
Just as an example, when the 3 worlds will be available a PvP player can freely roam all the 3 with no issues, as it will not be "punished" in PvE areas, while a PvE player will be severely limited when going to Tartaros.
-
@Antoniius I think you are exaggerating a bit too much.. Demons (or partly evils in general) cannot freely roam on all the three planets. They can spend a limited time on Syndesia and Arboreus and traveling to another planets can be challenging in general. Arboreus will be even more safe than Syndesia and no furries needs to participate on PvP unless they want to.
I agree that on Syndesia forcing players to PvP is not a good thing because it will not simply work in practise. However, evil players should have this possibility to PK others, even significantly restricted. Also concensual PvP, neutral playstyle, should be encouraged. However, if the good players are excluded from end-game content and neutral flagging is needed for every meaningful activities, we are on the road of forcing (passively) people to PvP.
IMHO the ideal situation for Syndesia is that threath of the PvP is always present but ganking for example happens only sometimes. Additionally, the PvP would be mainly consensual. Syndesia would favor somewhat neutral playstyle without totally excluding others from the end-game content.
