Windows Defender Site Issue
-
Hey all, someone who used my refer link has reached out to me on another site with the following message:
"I joined but it tried, and keeps trying, to put something that Windows Defender is marking as a virus and is calling it "A Misleading Product". It removes it before I can look at it and see what it actually is though. "
Has anyone else experienced this problem or a similar problem? I use Malware Bytes myself, not Windows Defender, and haven't had any issues with site. However I do also have a blocker active to prevent malicious pop-ups, ads, etc'.

have them add the site to a white/bypass list.

I use Norton and don’t have any issues with this site.

@Selicity we have Windows Defender on one of our machines - Microsoft Security Essentials actually, but that's the same thing - and never had any issue. The website doesn't contain any popop / advertisement. We also don't use any cookie besides the usual ones you can find on any website.
Can't your friend make a quick screenshot of the error message and see what the culprit is? Thank you for reporting the problem by the way!

i just looked at my ublock and don't see any triggers.. congratulations on that!
-
@Selicity You have something in background that's triggering popups ;). It's not the website. I suggest you to use ADblock and a popup blocker. But 1st of all i suggest you to clean your PC or maybe format it

@finland I just realized! I have no triggers today so now I'm wondering what set it off that day. I'll have to run a scan and a quick clean. Thanks for pointing that out to me because I honestly wouldn't have noticed.

@prometheus Thanks for responding! I've let them know and requested a screenshot / any other info' they can provide. I'll tag you again with the screenie if / when they get back to me.
