Planets? or maps?

Ok, so with the introduction of Planet Gewneration Tech..... when you talk about planets do you mean actual planets..(i.e a sphere map) or more traditional 'flat' maps.
Obviously, if using planet generation tech, I'm assuming this would mean ... generated then given an art pass to fully populate with locations etc etc.
Just curious, because of the fact that you are using the term planets.

@elwood there was a planet Elysium, than something really big happened, it got fractured to many planets. i don't believe they're still globes

No, they are still globes - with day/night cycles, seasons of year etc.

It seems to be kinda overkill for a game like this to have that. I would expect it are flat maps with the cycles of day/night, seasons and eclipses on timers

Well, it all depends if you are talking about in-game world/story (as viewed by it's in-game inhabitants), or the graphics displayed on your screen.

I seriously doubt the OP is asking for a lore point. only because it's explained in the spotlight.
@Elwood I'd love to see spheres. I have a feeling I'm going to hate the isometric view and will want a first or third person view.

@jetah yeah.... 1st or third person would be way better.... buuuut maybe not so easy to pull off... and id rather have an interesting game, than one that just looks amazing, but feels kind of flat.
Hopefully this one will be engaging.

I had that same question ! Will planets be actual planets in the game ? That would be totally awesome, but I assume it's quite difficult to pull out.

It would be really cool if you could go full time east, and end up where you started from.
North / South as well.
