Fishing is a stretch goal?
-
I am kinda shocked to see that a game where crafting, resource gathering, and hunting is a staple that fishing... one of the more relaxing and fun options, was left out to have its fate decided in a late stretch goal. It kinda makes me sad.
-
those are more "we'll add it in earlier than we intended" things.
-
The Kickstarter does not determine the success of the game. The Kickstarter's success will only allow specific, hand-picked talents to be hired much earlier and progress on "quality of life" game content to be implemented earlier.
The Kickstarter's failure will get the game back a few months but it will not destroy the game, and fishing will make it in eventually anyway.
This game can't all spawn into being at once, you see.

I was also surprised to see this, but completely understand. Anything really outside the core game is stuff that should come later. With that being said, I would be a little bit of a sad panda to miss out on fishing and animal taming.

It does seem strange

I was surprised at first too but I guess it's not considered as an important basic feature. I'm confident we will reach it anyway so I'm not worrying

Don't worry, pledging continues on their own website, even after KS ends, for approximately 2 more years.
And over time more and more people will hear about the game.

Unfortunately, the post said that the stretch goals will only continue on after the kickstarter if the kickstarter succeeds.
