What We Know About Weapons

@kellewic Humm if the purpose is to make more damage I dislike the idea just to hol the horizontal progression. I would avoid to see weapons with % growing time by time.

The purpose is to make weapons not boring and worth actually having.
Gaining extra damage vs a specific monster type (not players) is still situational. If I need to go into Goblin territory, I want my "Goblinslayer" sword not "Boring Sword #1".
I assume anything of this nature would be an enchantment and not naturally found.
I'm also not talking about weapons having levels, just something that defines them beyond base damage, type, weight, etc.

I doubt it will happen considering mobs immunty.

@nelchael Thank you for clearing that out.
But it does mean that you should still be wary of race resistances no?
-
@finland
I do think that there should be some kind of legendary weapon, the kind that would make you look ( i was almost going to say grind ) for hours and hours to obtain it. It doesn't have to be OP, but having it to show off would still be nice .
-
we can grind for materials. dungeon bosses will have to drop materials or special components that upgrade or somehow increase the quality/durability/etc of gear.
-
@jetah OK, thank you for clearing that out.
-
What about high end crafted weapons ( I can't play yet, so don't know what is there, but are there "epic" weapons?) Being used by new players? Will there be a skill set needed to use, or can new players lay wholesale waste with a powerful weapon right out of the gate?
-
@piraticalpyro there will be not powerfull weapons. Not a gear based game.
-
All weapons will be equal in a fight. Your skill as a player makes you powerful in this game, not your gear or your abilities.
-
@finland nice( that helps even the field a bit.
-
@piraticalpyro the way you combine the abilities will be crucial I think.
-
Weapons and gear do have their own characteristics. I've mentioned it here and I shall mention it again in this thread.
They do have different characteristics depending on the type of item and the material used to craft it. They could also have other parameters, such as the quality. A Bronze Platemail has different stats compared to an Iron Platemail but two Bronze Platemails are the same, yes. (aside from possible modifiers that don't impact the power of the item, such as its Quality)
-
@finland sounds like a good plan. Getting excited to play this! ( as soon as I can buy a new rig)
-
I want every kind of sword possible. All shapes and sizes!
-
@kellewic Why do I get the image of punching someone with your keys between your fingers?
