Why no camera control ?
-
I am new here but curious why I can't move the camera perhaps I missed that function somewhere.
-
Camera controls is not set to be a feature of this game as of now. There are still a few people lobbying for it, but so far the Devs are pretty set on keeping the fixed camera position
-
@Madmac A lot of the art is designed to be viewed from only one angle, otherwise it would have taken significantly longer to design everything. It's unlikely the devs will ever add a rotating camera.
-
Yeah, but the focus is too narrow. It seems like it's set at 8 feet which is no where near the average persons sight.
For instance when I'm at the bank I should be able to see other buildings. As it is right now is just panful.

Top down view was very annoying. Especially with the very poor view range. You can't play any distance combat well like that.
-
After a weekend of it. I thoroughly dislike it. Range of vision is terrible, walking into aggro before you can see it. Being attacked from off-screen.
It's just too limited, you can't scout cause all of a sudden there they are. oops, and now they're pissed. Sometimes you can outrun them, other times you just die.
-
Agreed, the field is much too narrow. I can understand wanting no camera control, but the current FOV just feels wrong for trying to play any distance based combat and it results in walking into aggro ranges without ever knowing something was near you.

I would agree that the ability to zoom out further would be greatly appreciated. I felt it was a bit close for most tasks.

Probably just a feeling from other games.

@Ruisert ... that is the point, no?
-
@dracokalen well, I guess you will have to adapt to the vision of the creators of the game or go play a simular game that lets you move the camera the way you want.
-
@Jacenson Maybe so, but as it is, it keeps things personal. A little more, mayyybe, 10... 14 percent more.

ummm....OK

@GamerSeuss I am OK with a fixed camera position, but, I would really like it to stay above and behind my character. So, I am always looking in the direction I am going. I do feel, as of now, that the camera sight distance is a bit too tight, as well. The directly over head view ocassionally gives me more vision behind me, than in front of my character. It gets a bit frustrating when you are out to explore a new world!
