RE: Now think Clearly Here
@sparky Hmm okay, this sounds more nuanced.
Thanks for your time. -
RE: Favorite features in Fractured
The thing I'm most excited about is the no grind idea.
I'd love to be able to play an MMO and keep up with friends, without putting hours and hours into it.I'm also looking forward to guilds not defining themselves by groups of people that focus on how much ''points'' or gold they can get, but to what services they can offer others, and what prestige guilds apply to members.
Like guilds used to be IRL.
I'm not even sure that will be the case, lol.

@wolefie We had an alliance called ''NERF,'' Exploited itself wasn't a Zerg, buddy. lol
So, once again you didn't read anything. LMFAO
Well I mean, the moment a guild participated in zergs, it kind of makes me feel like it's going to participate in a zerg again.
Not that that's a problem with the guild obviously.
As soon as the game allows for something to happen, it's totally okay for players to use this mechanic.
If guilds are allowed to get insanely big and strong and overpowering, that's the game's intention for guilds.I said before that I wanted to be a demon, but then didn't feel like it because I saw Exploited.
That doesn't mean I don't like the guild, I just had a different idea or interpretation of what demons will mean in their world.
I thought it would be an unorganised mess, with chaos all around, everybody backstabbing eachother.
It seems this isn't the case, so I lost interest.Do you not think that being the strongest guild on a planet will become boring?
Do you really think people will rise up?
Do you have examples of that happening in other games?@zidroc said in Now think Clearly Here:
@Sparky @WoLeFiE there will be no mean spirited arguing on my topics. Only cheerful arguing
Don't lol haha

I'm starting to feel like you didn't read it.
That's okay though, it's just some guild on some game that's not even out yet. -
RE: Now think Clearly Here
@sparky It's literally the guild with the most people, that have the least points.

RE: GoldenSaber [[GS]] (Human Mercenary Guild)
Now putting research into how actual mercenary systems work in other games, and how they used to work irl.
We're planning on giving regulated payment to active and hardworking mercenaries, so as to guarantee a job for people so desperate they're willing to put their life on the line for money.
This will ofcourse be hard to realize, but this professionalism is ultimately what will make us different from other guilds. Will you prove a valuable asset to us outside of gameplay?
Will you discuss improvable or alternative Disivions with me, or give me tips and ideas about anything GoldenSaber related?
Then you'll obviously be appreciated operating a higher position in our guild.Join us, and make sure this guild can survive in the finished product of Fractured.
UPDATE
New Division:
Division 5: Agent- Taking on Contracts

RE: Now think Clearly Here
@sparky I'm talking about one guild getting so insufferably big that other guilds won't stand a chance, let alone solo players, on tartaros.

RE: Now think Clearly Here
I wanted to paly a demon at first, as I thought it would be true FFA.
Now that I see the hardcore guilds that will optimize the fun out of their games, and kill everyone together as effectively as possible, I definitely won't be playing one.
You'd be forced into joining a guild, which is the worst. Now when demons invade and work otgether to beat the shit out of humans, THAT will be so much fun!
For humans and demons alike.I want to experience true terror as a human lol.
@Vicious Fuck us up! -
RE: Lore or snore...
@zidroc I feel like that might be a bit shallow for lore though lol
-
RE: Meaningful Guilds?
@fibs It's just so hard to think of a solution to these issues
-
RE: Race Percentages
@baron Oh wow so they already have the information?
I'd looove to see an actual live chart! -
RE: Visibility is the key
@benseine Oh, dope! I never really got to spending enough time in MMO's to discover those aspects, I guess.
-
RE: Meaningful Guilds?
@fibs Was that my ignorance?
Anyway yeah that sounds interesting and different from other mmo's.
In general I'm just afraid of having to deal with a really strict meta.
Are you saying the only big guilds in ESO are tradeguilds?
Because that would still make other guilds feel a bit redundant, wouldn't it? -
RE: Lore or snore...
Man Warframe was such a grindfest haha
Is it still?
Anyway I'm honestly hoping that getting to know the lore will feel a bit less systematic.
In Warframe they have an excuse because it's futuristic and all that, but I wouldn't like some sort of magic-scanner spell of item that automatically fills my little lorebook.Would it be cool to find books, like you would in skyrim? Maybe find a way to reward players for reading them.
I'd love to have my own little bookcase at home -

Yeah, Fractured isn't really grind free, it's just a different form of grind that attempts to not be a "repetitive grind" like other MMOs have, but to be a grind that requires you to do more different things for a shorter periods, rather then one same thing for a very long period of time.
You still have to:
- collect resources to re craft your gear occasionally (you will be loosing gear every once in a while when you die and are looted)
- collect resources to build houses and settlements (and to maintain them, buildings will decay over time)
- collect resources to fund sieges, or to repair damage after sieges
- gather knowledge points around the world (it will be a long process)
- gather money for various other expenses (consumables for survival, trading, etc.) either by being a gatherer, crafter, hunter or offering some services (mercenary etc.)
- there is surely more examples, these are just few
So no, Fractured is far from a MMO in which you can just log in and PvP without doing anything else.

There will always be a grind in some shape or form in online games. It's how the online games survive.
Without some form of grind, there wouldn't be much left to do after finishing the story and quests. My definition of the Grind:
''Grinding is the act of playing in a repetitive, unexciting, or otherwise un-enjoyable fashion in order to make faster progress.''

@wolefie dude ofc it will. Many hate grind. Why you think some mmorpgs offer instant max lvl characters from cashshops. It's one of the main reasons I like Fractured. And there are moba players too that might want something different.
Why play an MMO if you don't like grinding? It makes up almost 100% of the time you play.

Race Percentages
Hi,
Can we get percentages on what percentage of players pick what races?
I feel like this information shouldn't be hard to extract, is interesting to most players (maybe even devs?) and won't spoil too much from the game. Can't really think of a reason why not to show it to people.
