@wolefie Could you please keep your responses in one post instead of excessive multiposting. 😉

      Like this? Heh, oops. Sorry.

@Vicious @WoLeFiE Exploited is not for no-lifers. It's a guild built for those who want to wreck everyone else in the game.

      Well...
@vicious said in eXploited (#1 demon guild ):

****Exploited is not simply a guild is a lifestyle, we are here to win not to fucking host a Kumbaya party. We are a hardcore guild for people with no life our only enjoyment is see you in pain and tears, we do not like casual players or people that get easly offended or are unable to take jokes.

If you live in your mom basement, are obese , still live with your parents at age of 30+, shit in a bucket, piss in a bottle, be on probation for excessive drug use, or work in a nursing home wiping ass, steal from parents or have a speech impediment. Then we are the Guild for you . We have always believed in quality over quantity , If you have no life nobody can kill you!

      I mean...
      Let's agree to disagree.

Why do you feel like in game jobs have to be like irl jobs?

Does being a cop in GTA feel boring? Or a detective in pretty much ANY game?
Man, I know people who dig simulators, do you remember papers please?

I feel like anything could be fun, as long as you design it properly.

You do make a good point about people not recognising people a cop, or guard. I don't know how that could work.

I also do agree with you about the game being for older people who will have less time for games, which might result in them not wanting to play games that would be like second jobs.
However, guilds like Vicious' show that there'll be no life people on this game as well, as they don't accept casuals.
And then there's merchant guilds being started as well, in which they talk about making money.

    • RE: Visibility is the key

Eh, I honestly believe not that many MMO players will be interested in this game, with the no grind mentality it has and all that.

Shouldn't we be looking to people who like games like Skyrim, The Witcher?
Or Sandbox games like Minecraft, mount and blade, or even space engineers or rust?

      @vollmond That seems interesting!

A guild that has players that spend lots of time mining, would get better quality ores, tools or whatever.

I'll think more about this, seems interesting!

      @cronykil Dope!

How cool would it be if players could give quests!
Imagine you, as a storyteller, opening up secret stories of areas for players, like an NPC would in standard games!

These kinds of things would be so awesome.

Patrolling bandits because they'll receive money from their boss for doing it.

Hireable caravans actually being profitable for both parties!

Mannn these would be so awesome.

@zidroc I'm talking about the functionality of these guilds, not whether they exist. And yeah, the gameplay seems to be similar to albion online, but that game is such a meta whorehouse as well, doesn't interest me tbh. Not a lot of place for originality.

@whoatethecat Np dude! I really wanted to join your guild, but beastmen just don't seem interesting for me.
Maybe we'll even be able to co-operate, if I manage to recruit any members lol.

    • RE: Meaningful Guilds?

@jetah Nah, RP guilds mean using ineffective means to feel more like your character. I'd like guilds to be specialised, so that the professions performed by the people in these guilds are easier and more profitable to perform in these guilds.

It's hard to explain how a game would simulate this, but that's why I wanted to discuss the subject.

    • RE: Meaningful Guilds?

@muker Right, those seem like they would diversify the guilds alot.

My point is, would they be just a collection of people who like mining and talk about it, or would it be like guilds in real life where they have rules, where they make access to potential customers easier, would they be able to set up actual trademarks or businesses? And not doing all of this because it's fun and immersive, but also because it's effective?

    • Meaningful Guilds?

      Hi!

So, first of all, I'm loving the concept of this game, for lots of reasons.
One of them is the whole player-driven element.

Now I've noticed lots of games with this feature, and they all, in my opinion, accomplish this partly.
That is, they act like economy is all about goods.

Selling your hard earned Goblin ears to someone who will use them to make love potions, for that person to sell those to someone else, is interesting enough for a standard mmorpg.
However, I was wondering if it would be possible for a game this original to implement actual services in the player-driven economy as well.

Imagine actual functioning police or guard forces, carriage drivers, hirelings
(ayee check my guild ;p), landlords and teachers?
Hell, maybe even entertainment focused sellers like actors or writers?

Imagine guilds not being about 'The sickest PvP metas' or 'Rp guild only 12+ make profile first' or whatever! Just guilds to actually make money in an immersive way by delivering services to other players!

I feel like these wouldn't be possible without some help from the developers, considering that without some kind of system for payment they'd be too easy to scam and therefore not reliable.

These would be so, so incredibly cool!

Anyone else have thoughts, ideas or inspiration for these kinds of systems?
maybe some services I missed that you think would be crucial?

      I'd love to discuss!

So to convince people: a Roadmap of the development might definetly help in my opinion.
If possible, I would apply one in the campaign details on Kickstarter.

      THIS

I pledged because I really really want to reward game originality like this.
If you can somehow show us in what this game is still going to improve, I'll gladly considering pledging more.

    • RE: Questions about weapons.

@muker Thank you for showing me this topic.
I'll be sure to search the forum more extensively before asking stupid questions.

Now, my next stupid question: My profile picture doesn't seem to want to change. Everytime I change it, i can see my profile with the new picture.

I refresh once: My profile picture changes in the profile editing screen.
Second refresh: Picture changes in the top right.

I'll continue looking for fixes, like using other browsers, if you happen to know a fix, I'd like to hear.

      Buhbye.

      EDIT

It seems to show the correct picture in explorer.
Do you see a futuristic rat or a norse warrior?

    • Questions about weapons.

Will there be in class weapon differences? As in, will some two handed swords be better than others? Or will some be more speed oriented, and others power oriented?

As I understand, character development is only measured by it's Knowledge points (and tree) and it's abilities.
Does that mean items will barely play any role?

In games I love getting strong (or at least unique) items. Are you guys planning to have a large variety of designs?

Will weapon customisation be a thing?

Would love to hear any of these answered.
Cheers to you guys for coming up with such a refreshing concept for an MMO.

    • RE: Extension of: Alpha 1 Please Line Up!

Darn, starting from alpha phase 2. Well, considering going in for the long haul won't be very effective, I'd focus on experiencing tons of mechanics the game has to offer. I'm expecting this to be x all the y: Kill all the demons! Chop all the tree! Build all the houses!

I used to be in a steamgroup that was centered on breaking games. The more breakage, the more points. Maybe I'll be able to set some records 😄
