RE: The Council of Elysium is coming!
Wasn't what I expected either but nice to see things happening. I'm hopeful for more frequent streams, events, etc in the coming months.

Nice, I'm looking forward to some news. I really got the bug to test again after that short weekend.

RE: Sharing the Latest News Has a Glitch
Good to know, I thought they stopped doing them a year or so ago. That being said, we've got another issue @Arcahem
Update - as of 05/08/22 it is now showing indicating I've read 0 of 1 newsletter(s). Of course it goes down to 1 and it's the one I hadn't seen
.

@Vortech Reading and sharing all the last posts should take your from 8600 up to 9400. If not you have to go back to post with the older original artwork.
Yes, thank you I did re-read and share all of the articles. My point was that I had previously read and shared all of these items.
The only outstanding points are for the second newsletter. Does anyone know the names of these? I believe they were emails. I'll continue to look and report back if I find it.

Glad to hear the issue is resolved for everyone!
The missing points will be available in the coming days.
Seems like we're getting points for things previously completed.. I was all current and am showing 6+ items missing blog + shares. I'm also missing one of the two newsletters which I have no idea what it was ever titled.

RE: Feature Spotlight - Towns and Tech

@Vortech
The most recent test had no intentions on having player towns, as shown by the devs magical creation of two rank 15 towns near the starting locations.
It is not a valid comparison with other alphas where the town mechanics were being tested, where I pulled my example from, or the coming beta where vegetables will be implemented to allow full town economies to be tested before launch.Interesting take.
I asked Jacopo in game during this last test and he indicated that this was their current state.. However, Jacopo felt there was "definitely quite some QOL" they "could add to cities".

@Vortech Maybe you weren't here for it, but there has been a rather vocal outcry for more residences further away from cities. Since all residences are connected to city tech trees, solo'ists can't just make their little oasis in the midst of danger they always want, but further from town plots meet this need half-way. Not so far from town as to not be connected to their tech trees, but not so close as to feel like your just part of that town's suburbs.
People want to make roadside inns and hunting cabins and such and try to be totally divorced from towns as much as possible...some people anyway. Different play styles for different players afterall, and Fractured is trying to cater to as diverse an audience as possible while keeping to their core values.
I was here but that's a different playstyle and IMO a different conversation. I am speaking to a grievance citizens who I interacted with during the last test shared. While many didn't have the time to raise enough funds individually.. Most who did, were in groups. Between area chat and those who we convinced to join us on Discord, the sentiment was pretty clear. All that being said, I was at least.. Specifically discussing the housing linked to the cities. These different playstyles shouldn't be in competition IMO, so maybe there is a more recent thread they're still discussing that preference?

What is this? a Joke? @Arcahem @Prometheus
The first image is what I saw in the most recent test and I did not see anything about "any food".

And sometimes it is a good thing to have a residence far from a city. Like the below example where you would have far easier access to the copper ore if you lived far out than close in. Variety is nice and provides different access to different resources. If you plan on using the towns crafting, banking, and trade services a lot, then a residence close to it would be more beneficial. But if you would rather just have tech access, house anywhere in the territory, then being closer to resources, or mob camps, might be more beneficial.
That's an opinion, while I believe the minority based on my interactions with players.. there may be some that share it. The simple compromise would be for folks of that opinion to simply purchase the plots on the outer edges of the residential areas. During the last test in Braavos, none of the residents that I spoke with were concerned with their proximity to one or two resources nodes. What they were very much concerned with was their poor proximity to the city center and the time it took running back and forth. I believe based on the opinions of the residents who shared with me, that as I stated.. This is a quality of life issue more than anything and should be considered for a rework/revisit.
Players would prefer to see residential plots in closer proximity.

Depends on the city. Some have very near residential areas.
@OlivePit said in Housing Thoughts:
The residential housing distance is variable depending on the terrain.
Sometimes the distances makes sense, sometimes they do not.. As it seems here (credit for your image I edited):
My point is, as the city dimensions are standardized I would like to see the majority of residential plots treated the same. Obviously some deviation would be welcome as to make areas somewhat unique, but this is more about QoL than anything else.

@Jessah this is already an option. Each city does have housing available right outside the city area.
The housing areas are not close enough IMO

RE: Will we be able to build cities in the upcoming test?
So we claimed it, you can build it.. But upgrading is an issue. There were two admin cities rank 15 at the start and their markets were pre-loaded with materials. We started a city East of the Southern starter town but are waiting on crops for cereals.. Somehow the West player city was upgraded to rank 1 near the start of the test.. We're assuming admin intervention or those admin city markets had the materials to make cereals and they just bought them all.

nobody who plays mmos trusts Gamigo
I keep hearing this, but I've played MMOs since the 90s and have no problem with Gamigo...further, I talked to the eSports people at the local college and most of them have no issue with Gamigo as well.
Sounds like it checks out, job done here.. Google would have netted you a faster and more accurate result.

ugh.. yet another reminder of the stain that is Trion. I used to get excited when I saw Fractured news, lately it's just disappointing.

RE: Gamigo Publishing Deal Q&A - List Your Questions!
Jacopo, considering this new publishing deal are there any plans to be providing refunds as Fractured has not launched yet? Personally, I'm sorry.. I believe in you and Fractured but I cannot in good faith contribute or participate in any project associated with Gamigo or their other companies.
