All paid assets are for use if it fits your theme. We should be happy that instead of wasting time they use ready assets when it fits the game.

RE: State Of The Game #2 โ On 2018, Alpha 1 & Unity
@Prometheus you should have said it's a super secret vendor like the crab vendor in skyrim. Or is it and you weren't supposed to write about it and now you covering it up.... conspiracy!

RE: Unity has blocked SpatialOS - What's up and what it means for us
@Specter said in Unity has blocked SpatialOS - What's up and what it means for us:
@HannielK The devs aren't running around with lawyers. The Unity/Improbable issue wasn't their fight.
I wonder if any dev from Unity/Improbable was involved as it was marketing/pr stuff. Especially on Unity side it looked like no working brain was used

RE: Unity has blocked SpatialOS - What's up and what it means for us
@Phaethonas remember that Improbable didn't have any reasons to make problems of Unity while for Unity the only reason to make problems for Improbable was to get more money (from them or from their own cloud service). Knowing that you still think that Improbable is the bully? Both sides were doing business but Improbable was a bit smarter about it and in better position.
@Prometheus what about support from Unity for Fractured?

We'll see what the aftermath for Unity will be.

RE: Unity has blocked SpatialOS - What's up and what it means for us
@basileus as I said before Improbable was open in what's they're going to do. Why block them over a year after they started and in a way that affects others? That doesn't make any sense. I'm not saying Improbable is the good guy here - I don't know. But Unity for sure is the bad guy.
And their clarification of TOS is... evil. They say you can do a platform yourself but if you want to use a third party platform you can only use the ones that paid them (at least that's what I'm reading between the lines).

RE: Unity has blocked SpatialOS - What's up and what it means for us
@basileus even if that's true what Unity did with changing TOS is a very bad move and it looks bad for the future as well. Some people not using SpatialOS and not connected to Improbable were affected.
If Unity only suspended Improbable and did not change TOS then I would be on their side. But this looks like messing with users just to get more money from Improbable.
Remember that SpatialOS started before Fractured started - so it's over a year ago. And they never hide what they're doing. Then suddenly Unity wakes up and says no?
The message from Unity is basically this: if you're doing something that we don't like we will change TOS to block you even if at first we agreed.

RE: Unity has blocked SpatialOS - What's up and what it means for us
@00 the thing is if it's safe to stay with Unity if they do stuff like that... or will they learn from this? If they do shit like this in 2-3 years then changing engine will be much harder at that point. I love Unity but... that's a really dick move they did. Even if they had real reasons to fight with Improbable.
