@Holya yes, it's 200 points per level, fixed. However, the fact we've planned 200 levels so far doesn't mean that we won't add above 200 in the future

RE: Why will the control be based on a mouse?
@scellow as pointed out above, the games you mentioned, including ROTMG, have 8-direction movement. That's really the only type of movement possible with WASD in a top-down game, but for us, it would be way too limiting. Even if we implemented WASD to please a few players, we would just put those players at a disadvantage compared to those using click-to-move.
That being said, I think that you lack of appreciation for click-to-move might be due to the fact you associate it with pathfinding, auto-follow and auto-attack. This will not be the case for Fractured: pathfinding exists, but it's limited (on purpose), most of the time you will hold down the mouse button to move because you'll be busy dodging and positioning. Auto-attacking and auto-follow don't exist at all.
Rest assure, combat will be both tactical and hectic, you will love it "even" with click-to-move!

Engage and Win with The Foundation
Last week, when we hit the milestone of 2,000 registered users, we stated that our referral program was only partially implemented, and promised you another revolution. Today, this feature is live in all its glory. Give a warm welcome to The Foundation!
What is The Foundation? Well, although connected to recruiting friends, The Foundation is much more than a “glorified referral program”. It’s a system that rewards you for doing all the small things that show your interest in Fractured and its success: posting your feedback and ideas, engaging with other members of the community, browsing the latest updates and sharing them with your friends. Each of such actions is represented by one or more quests that, once completed, grant you points to climb the ladders of The Foundation.
Other than the above, there are a couple other ways you can gain Foundation Points:
- By inviting your friends to register to Fractured and getting them too engaged in The Foundation.
- As thanks for having given us your trust so early: the older your account the better, thanks to the daily points bonus!
Now that the system has been explained, let’s get to the juice. The perks you can get by increasing your Foundation Level are unique and plenty: forum and game titles, armor skins, mounts, pets, and much more. They’re the kind of prize you would expect from Kickstarter pledge packs. Instead, you can get them all for free, starting today. Plus, you can directly compare your progress with that of other fellow players in the leaderboard!
As you will quickly notice, this first edition of The Foundation only features a limited set of quests compared to the whole bunch we’ve designed. The others will be released over time together with game feature spotlights and additions of whole new functionalities to the system. Similarly, higher Foundation Levels will be unveiled over time - we’ve already planned over 200!
I know of one question that might come to your mind: won’t giving out so many rewards hurt our future crowdfunding campaign? The answer is: probably a little, yes. However, we strongly believe that an engaged community is the key to the success of any MMO, and we’re glad to reward your engagement.
And now… enjoy The Foundation!

2,000 community members and a little account tweak
It’s been exactly two weeks since we’ve made the Fractured portal public and announced the project to the press. In such a short time, no less than 2,000 of you have decided to share our enthusiasm for revolutionizing the world of Sandbox MMOs. We are astonished!
As of today, our community members come from over 70 countries, with the TOP 10 being claimed by Brazil, Vietnam, United States, Russia, Italy, Canada, UK, France and Ukraine. Once more, this is incredible, and we are nothing but amazed for the support we’ve received so far from you ladies and gentlemen!
Although only partially implemented, our referral program is also being remarkably successful, with 15% of all registered users having visited the website thanks to a friend’s link. We can only imagine how exciting things will get after the system is completed. In this regard, the full version is expected to go live next week, so get ready for a little revolution in the world of referral programs as well.
Aside from the great news above, last week we’ve tweaked the login and account system of the portal. The changes introduced are:
- You now need to input your email and password instead of username and password in the login menu. The game menu is set to follow the same logic in the future.
- We’ve renamed “username” to “public username” in the account creation menu, and we’ve added a box remarking that your username is used only as display alias, not as login credential.
This decision has been prompted by a few community members concerned about the security of their accounts and dissatisfied about not being able to have a different public nickname. While the perceived security issue should be fully addressed, we are aware that some of you might be interested in changing username to something more of your liking. If you wish to do so, please send a message to support@dymstudios.com from the address you’ve used to register to Fractured specifying the new username you want and we’ll take care of it as soon as possible.
Thank you for your support and stay tuned to Fractured – The Dynamic MMO!

Hi @Sheathen, welcome to the community! Stay tuned for the upcoming dev journals - you'll have the chance to discover all the features of Fractured in great detail!

RE: Что как?
Alpha testing for high-tier backers is set to start in 2018, as explained in our FAQ. Past that, it's too early for us to predict.
As for the "story", Fractured will be quite light on lore - there will be no "main questline" in game and very limited questing in general, which is normal for Sandbox MMOs. Nonetheless, there will be a quite articulated "cosmology" and "racial" lore, highly tied to game mechanics, that will be described in one of the upcoming dev journals!

RE: No bugs tab so posting here
Thanks for reporting this, @Aries. It's a bug of our forum platform, we have no control over it, but hopefully it will be fixed in one of their upcoming patches.

@Prometheus should we expect alpha in 2018? Also have you thought if there are gona be wipes between phases or will the party start from alpha? Also pleeeaaaseee explain character progression soon enough cause when i read "grind free" tears come down my eyes!
You can expect alpha in 2018 for high-tier backers, as explained in our FAQ. There will be wipes after every testing phase until full release - but of course if you own a Founder Pack or have purchased hard currency, you get it all back after each wipe. As for the Knowledge System, it will be explained in one of the upcoming dev journals, of course!
Anyway, @Siltoruz @Vetro @ooBENONIoo @Holya these are the Fractured forums, not the Linkrealms forums. If you want to talk about Linkrealms, feel free to do so in the Off-Topic section, not here

RE: Why will the control be based on a mouse?
Hi @33Hp! Fractured uses a top-down camera that doesn't rotate - if you've played games like Diablo, Path of Exile, Torchlight, you will know what I mean. With this type of camera, keyboard controls don't make much sense. You use your left hand to cast spells clicking buttons on the keyboard and your right hand to hold the mouse (moving and using basic attacks). It's pretty much the industry standard!

Hi @Chiengngan06! Fractured will be available in 2018 for high-tier backers, it's currently in pre-alpha.
@Holya if I get your meaning of "in-engine", that's not. Anyway, several more screenshots and eventually videos as well are going to be released in the coming weeks
Ahhh the mystery! Can you just tell us how much the shot that @Holya posted is representative of the art style of the game? Is it any indication of the view angle during gameplay?
It's a very pre-alpha screenshot, but it's broadly representative of the art style and absolutely representative of the view angle.
@Vetro said in Our journey begins today, with you:
Hi @Prometheus
Just one important request man! Do not restrict PvP like it was in Linkrealms!Hi Vetro  The whole topic of PvP will be treated in a very innovative way on Fractured. You can get some hints about it from the game's homepage and on the press

RE: Three races, three gameplays: A griefer's confession
@Holya said in Three races, three gameplays: A griefer's confession:
THE ACTUAL QUESTION:
How much of an effect on my gameplay will my racial choice have? Will racials affect combat? Will players be rewarded/punished differently for murder/X depending on race?
I assume you've not cemented a majority of the mechanics yet, so s'understandable if you don't have answers. Still, the thought of heroically charging defenseless peasants without my perfect little wifu being there is sad.
It will have a huge impact. It will affect combat, yes, although that's not the most significant part of it. Sure they'll be punished differently - Beastmen just can't attack innocents at all, while Demons are assassins by default and there is no punishment for criminal actions on Tartaros. You could play as a Human and turn into an outlaw too, of course, but everyday life on Syndesia would get quite hard for you. Plus, raiding demons on Tartaros is a big deal for a Human, while the opposite is much easier, particularly during eclipses.
Game mechanics are very well cemented already, you just need to wait for all the dev journals exposing them
On a side note, I had to clear this thread from a lot of crap. Avoid spamming and using homophobic slurs. This is the first and last warning.

RE: Building your on Cities
Well, we are as well! Player cities in Fractured will be much more than conglomerates of player houses with some shops built here and there - but you'll have to wait little for a full dev journal on the topic!

At one point there were a good 5+ posts regarding this on places like /r/mmo at the same time. A couple forums I frequented seemed to have a very negative opinion of Linkrealms purely from people spamming about it for keysInteresting - I wasn't really aware of this, and it surprises me since players had to let us know of the links to the blog / forum posts where they talked about Linkrealms, and we would only reward non-spammy ones.
@HolyAvengerOne said in People spamming other forums with their refferal codes should be banned:
@Prometheus so you were/are the makers of linkrealms?
Yes, but were not the ones who started the development of the game - you can say we've been the ones who resurrected it

@Prometheus Quite frankly I thought I had read somewhere you guys weren't gonna go to KS because of the latest round of private funding you raised but I can't find anywhere that says that, so hmmm, not sure wth hehe.
I think I've also read something like that recently about another studio making a MMO, you probably got confused
