RE: Hello Fellow Crafter/Adventurers!
@SmithyJones I'll take a direwolf burger (hold that mayonaise) extra wisp sauce, with grilled potato fries and a large mug of mead, pleaze.

RE: Crafting from a wishful thinker
@Farlander don't think I care much for the scarcity part of the resources, but I definitely love it when they make material deposits seasonal or only available during certain environmental conditions with depleting deposits that refill after time.
And I do like the having to study the item part to see its stats, which they already seem to be implementing on found magical items.

I think RNG is good in the following manner: very low % (10% or under) you make a mistake and get a worse quality of item crafted or lose some material, (%10 or lower) you hit enlightment on crafting and make an item a tier higher than normal. (GO YOU!!!) where the higher you skill level is the lower the failure chance and the greater the improvement chance is, but still the majority 80% is the crafting of an item of that level,

RE: How will you be making your $$$?
@Zori mmmmm... I see.. yes.. I would hate for my pets to start loving to be around you more than me. that would be a bad thing.

Sorry @Kralith I have to gree with @Tuoni here. Even though I personally like healing and tanking (though I mostly like being a controller mage), from my experience people (especially the younger ones with inflated egos) want to be the BEST Damage dealers. They see it as the best cause of the bragging rights and want to be at the top of the charts as the bad ass of the game. They love to kill and dominate, not support and defend. This is also why you normally see very few different types of characters, they will cookie-cutter copy the ones before them, and used what is deemed to be the best at the time.
So with that said, I think healers will always be harder to find or used as an alt character for a lot of people. Still, I hope the game makes it so we need healers and tanks, so we can have fun with those roles.

RE: What to do during this down time of having no Fractured.....
@Vidrik said in What to do during this down time of having no Fractured.....:
Its like Fractured in that there is no hand holding, you literally start off in undies and have a 500 gold debt to pay off if you want to keep your house There is starvation, freezing, over heating, all kinds of survival bits, and you are classless until you choose your 3 advanced paths.
And yes, I really enjoy it Also, the new DLC for it comes out in 7 days. can't wait. It's very versatile and the crafting system has some nice parts to it. Also, co-op is very entertaining Let me know if you get it, and I will show you the ropes.... err... well.. take you into the adventure that is

What to do during this down time of having no Fractured.....
I'm thinking of heading back to my good o' survivor game of Outward. Its the closest I can think of that is similar to Fractured.

RE: Crafting from a wishful thinker
@Donner I am also a very die hard crafter, and I have yet to find a game that fills what I want, though the Saga of Ryzom does a great job with crafting, I feel that it could still be better.
With that said, from playing alpha I am not sure this game will have what I am wanting out of crafting either, since their base craft was not that extravagant. They seem to be more geared toward the enchanting side which touches upon what Ryzom did with their actual craft materials. Still, I am hoping and waiting to see what they actually pull out of their crafting hats, as many others I have met on here are doing as well.
I would even like specialization within crafting, having enchanter being its own set of learnable skills, carpentry its own (for building houses, wagons, etc), armorsmithing , blacksmithing (horse shoes, hoes, etc for farming and building), weaponsmithing, cooking and etc. But I think they are more in line of everyone can craft anything mentality for this game and the stats are based on the material used and not the skill level of the crafter.
We will just have to see though, and I think this game is offering enough in other areas to still make it enjoyable for me.

RE: Goodbye Grind?
@Chapex In my opinion, grinding is basically having to do something that is completely boring time and time again. As long as it feels interesting and fun, I would not call repetitiveness to be "grinding", and I believe that is what the devs here are trying to say. We will have repetitive actions that we will need to do, but there will just be so much variety and ways to go about things that we should not feel as though we are having to "grind" in order to get what we desire.
(Gets out his grinding wheel and grains of wheat to start his long drawn out process of making bread....again.) what? I have to till the the garden? feed the cattle? take out the garbage? AND make supper??? AGAIN??!!!! (sigh) Life's grind is never done. (Looks over at his dog lounging on the rug by the hearth) You lucky bum.

RE: Fractured, this will be EPIC!
@Rizzardi I think I remember talk somewhere about regional pricing that just isn't in place yet. Which would reduce the amount you would have to pay if you are in a country with very low income.

RE: Support/Healer type builds
@asspirin Aye, also I would see bandages more as a way to mostly stop bleeding and not actual healing. Bandages really don't heal anything after all, they just help keep wounds clean so that they are able to heal better.
Potions would be nice to have like a toxicity limit on, the more you drink the drunker you get or something? So even though they may heal someone faster they also come with a down side. They need more than just a crafting cost associated with them I believe.
Skills and spells of course can be balanced out in so many different ways, and only work in certain situations or against specific things.
